Climbing plant, grown on trellis to let the fruit and flowers hang down. Large, oval-shaped fruit, green skin when young, can weigh up to 1–2 kg when ripe. Passion fruit flowers are characterized by many small purple and white tendrils, the pistil and calyx are purple-red. Large green leaves, heart-shaped, grow alternately on the vine. This type of passion fruit has a light aroma, less sour than regular passion fruit, the fruit flesh is used to make drinks, smoothies or eaten fresh.
