Ghostchat
Overview
Chat with others on the same site right now. No accounts, no history, nothing saved — it vanishes when everyone leaves.
Ghostchat started with a simple idea: what if every URL had its own live chat? A space for people who happen to be looking at the exact same thing, at the exact same moment, to actually talk about it. Right now, chats are matched at the domain level — so anyone on reddit.com right now, for example, not just one specific thread — trading some precision for a much better chance of actually finding someone else there. If Ghostchat ever reaches real scale, exact-URL matching is the natural next step. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and nothing is ever saved. Each time you get matched with someone, you're both given a random temporary name (like "ZestyKoala" or "GiddyCobra") that exists only for that chat — never tied to you, never reused, never stored. How it works: Install Ghostchat and browse normally. If someone else with Ghostchat is currently on the same site, a small panel slides in on the right so you can chat. Type classic emoticons like :) :D and <3 for retro smiley icons, and hover over chat acronyms like BRB or LOL to see what they mean. When everyone else leaves, the chat disappears completely — no history, no scrollback, nothing to find again later. Ghostchat doesn't track you, doesn't log your messages, and doesn't build a profile of your browsing. It's a momentary, disposable space for people who happen to be looking at the same thing at the same time — nothing more, gone the moment everyone leaves, just like a ghost.
