GHL Workflow Backup & Audit pulls the complete step-tree of any GoHighLevel workflow you're viewing (every node, trigger, branch, and setting) and saves it as a clean, readable JSON file — then puts it back when you need it. WHY GoHighLevel doesn't give you a native way to export, version or restore a workflow's full configuration. If you manage workflows for your agency or your clients, that makes it hard to back up your work, audit what changed, or diff two versions of the same automation. And when someone edits a live workflow into a mess, there is no undo and no previous version to fall back on. This extension fixes both halves: get the configuration out, and get it back in. WHAT YOU GET - Full step-tree JSON, every node and its settings, not just a summary. - Trigger and status metadata included. - ID → name resolution for pipelines, calendars, tags, users, and more (optional, requires your own GoHighLevel API token). - Single export: capture whatever workflow is open in the builder right now. - Bulk export: select multiple workflows or entire folders (expanded recursively) and export them all in one sequential run. - Single import: write a backup file back into the workflow you have open. - Bulk restore: point it at a folder of backups and rebuild a whole sub-account — each file matched to its workflow, missing ones created. HOW IT READS YOUR WORKFLOWS GoHighLevel doesn't expose a workflow's full step-tree in the page or via its public API, so this extension reads the builder's own in-memory data and inspects the responses of requests the GoHighLevel page itself makes. That inspection is limited to GoHighLevel's own domains and its Firebase datastore, requests to any other site, and static files like images and scripts, are ignored. It runs only on GoHighLevel pages, and never records your browsing anywhere else. HOW IT RESTORES A WORKFLOW Restoring writes through the same GoHighLevel session you are already signed in to, using the same application backend the workflow builder itself uses — there is no public API for writing a workflow's steps. Three things are always true: - It never publishes or activates a workflow, and never enrolls a contact. Workflows it creates are drafts. If you import into a workflow that is already published, it writes into that live workflow and warns you clearly. - Importing into a workflow that already has steps REPLACES them, so it asks first and shows you what you are about to overwrite. Nothing is written until you confirm. - After writing, it reads the workflow back and compares it against the file, then tells you whether every step and trigger landed. Restoring into a DIFFERENT sub-account re-points references by name, so pipelines, calendars, tags, custom fields and users resolve to the equivalent items in the destination. Anything with no match is reported by name rather than failing silently, so you know exactly what to fix by hand. WHERE YOUR DATA GOES You choose: save straight to your computer's Downloads folder (no sign-in required), to a dedicated folder in your own Google Drive, or both.
