Overview
Run Vortex IQ store-experience tests on your own store, in your own Chrome.
Test your online store's customer journeys, check its tracking tags, see which sites AI assistants cite, and research public web pages for your content, with Vortex IQ, directly in your own Chrome browser. VortexIQ Browser Agent connects your browser to Vortex IQ so it can run the jobs you request (store-experience tests, tracking and tag checks, citation tests, and read-only page research) using your browser's own session and region. Store-experience tests: • Test shopping journeys such as product searches, product pages, baskets and forms, including checks you write yourself. • Capture screenshots and page information to help diagnose problems. • Check accessibility and investigate console and network errors. • Save visual baselines locally for comparison. • When a test needs you (a bot check, a sign-in, or something only you should type, such as a password), it asks you in the tab and waits. You type secrets into the store's own field; they are never sent to Vortex IQ. Tracking and tag checks: • Walks your store's buying journey (home, product, basket, checkout) and stops at the payment step — it never places an order or pays. • Records the analytics and advertising requests your own pages send, with their payloads, so you can see which tags fire, which are missing and which fire twice. • Reads your store's cookies for this check: the values of analytics and advertising IDs (such as _ga, _fbp), and the names only of every other cookie. • Reads your store's cookie-consent state, before and after you accept the banner. • Visits carry utm_source=vortexiq_tag_audit so you can filter these runs out of your reports. • Optional "fresh pass" clears your store's cookies and local storage before it starts, which signs you out of your own store and empties your basket. It only ever touches the store under test. Citation tests — the only part that leaves your store: • Asks ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini the buying questions you ebsites their answers point to, and whether yours is one ofthem. • It opens its own tab on chatgpt.com, claude.ai and gemini.google.com and uses the accounts you are already signed into. It types your question you and presses Send — the same as if you had asked it yourr creates an account, and never asks anything you did notwrite. • It reads the assistant's page to find the answer — including your chat list, which is how it tells that its own question has been answered rather than an earlier one. What it sends to Vortex IQ is the answer and the links in it. If it cannot tell the answer apart from the rest of the page, it records nothing for that question rather than sending the page. • If you are not signed in to an assistant, those questions are recorded as skipped and nothing is asked. • Each question goes to your own account and uses your own usage allowance there. • A notification stays up for as long as a run lasts, and you can stop it at any time. Runs only start for the apps you allow in the extension's settings. Read-only research: • Reads public web pages your Vortex IQ job names, in your own browser, to help with your content. • It never posts, comments, likes or sends messages on your behalf. The one thing it ever sends is a question you wrote, in a citation test, to yoown AI assistant. • Opens pages of your own site that a Vortex IQ report names — such as a web health or blog content audit — to capture screenshots and measure performance and accessibility on the real page. You can always see what it is doing: a visible cursor and a in the tab it is working in, and a citation test shows anotification for as long as it runs. Getting started: 1. Install the extension. 2. Read and accept the extension's data-use disclosure. 3. Connect your browser from Vortex IQ. 4. Start a store-experience test, a tracking and tag check, a citation test, a report, or a research run. During a job, the extension operates its own tabs, and only on the sites that job names. Page content, screenshots, and — for tracking and tag checks — the analytics and advertising requests your pages send plus your store's tracking-cookie IDs, and — for citation tests — the assistants' answers and the links in them, are sent to Vortex IQ and prperform the work and generate results. You can disconnect your browser or withdraw consent in the extension's settings. Withdrawing consent also revokes every app's permission to run citation tests. Requires a Vortex IQ account.
