Stream a local file address to ChromeCast

I love I can do this:
https://go2nts.com/playit/video/jeep.mp4

but I hate I can't do this:
file://KONA/TestVideos/jeep.mp4
where KONA is my local server. I know that ChromeCast does see that server, but the castbuddy is forcing a "HTTPS:" in front of my "file" string - BUMMER!

I'm no longer able to cast up on my TV ..... why?

For some reason I can't cast to TV from my iPhone the function has disappears and have tried to reload but not happening. I've spent hours trying to fix this and have done quite a bit of trouble shoot.

Chrome 96.0.4664.110 on Mac OSX 'Start Cast' button no longer works

Chrome upgraded because of some security fixes. Now the 'Start Cast' button does not work.

Subtitles.

Everything it's good with this extension. I really love it but since I like to watch foreign movies with subtitles when I send it to the chromecast there's no option to choose or put subtitles, and have to keep watching them on my laptop instead. I would really appreciated if you took this into consideration :(

Casting

Hi, since i updated chrome, castbuddy is not casting anymore. Chromecasts are not found. With chrome it is no problem to see the chromecasts.

No casting anymore

When I click the "cast button" nothing happens, it doesn't even open the chrome pop up with the devices options to connect/send.

Problems Casting Instagram live

Hi

I used to be able to cast instagram live stream to the nvidia shield via casting recently (past 45 or so) am not able to do so. It tries to load up but fails and just shows the castbuddy logo after 3/4 seconds. Has anything changed?

The stream URL looks like this:

That URL used to work but since it's stopped working in castbuddy ... I've tried to use VLC and it works ... even by casting from VLC to nvidia shield. The only problem with this approach is that VLC needs to stay open.

Any suggestions to fix this so I can enjoy my live IG streams being casted on the nvidia shield again?

castbuddy does not work on linux?

Hi. I have a chromebook and there castbuddy works like it should. But on my Linux Mint notebook it does not work eiher with chrome nor chromium.
In linux the video gets detected and when I click on the cast button the castbuddy windows gets closed and nothing happens.
What could be the problem?
