Etsy Listing Clipper for Obsidian
Overview
Save any Etsy listing to your Obsidian vault as a clean Markdown note. Title, images, price, tags, reviews. Works offline.
Turn any Etsy listing into a clean Markdown note in your Obsidian vault in one click. Obsidian is the best place to keep things you want to remember. Etsy is full of things worth remembering: a handmade ring you want to save for later, a ceramic mug whose glaze you love, a seller whose photography you study, a niche you're researching, a gift idea, a product you're about to launch something similar to. The problem: the default Obsidian Web Clipper doesn't handle Etsy well. Carousel images are missed, tags are invisible, reviews are chopped, variations vanish, and the description comes back as one wall of text. This extension is purpose-built for Etsy listings. One click and your note has everything: • Title, shop name, listing ID, and source URL • Every carousel image (full-size) and any product videos • Current price, original price, and discount percentage • Description preserved with its original line breaks and formatting • All variations (color, size, material, etc.) laid out as a clean table • Category breadcrumbs and listing tags (pulled from JSON-LD when public) • Overall rating, sub-ratings (quality, shipping, service), and individual review quotes Use it for whatever your Obsidian is for: • A personal wishlist that lives next to your other notes, not in browser bookmarks • A research vault for sellers studying competitors, pricing, or a niche • A mood board / inspiration log for designers and makers • A gift tracker that actually has the product details when you come back to it • A trend-tracking archive you can tag, link, and search across months How it works 1. Open any Etsy listing page 2. Click the extension icon (or press Alt+Shift+E) 3. A new note opens in your Obsidian vault, ready to be tagged, linked, and used Privacy first This extension never sends your data anywhere. It reads the Etsy page you're already looking at, builds the Markdown locally, and hands it off to your Obsidian desktop app via the obsidian:// URI protocol the same way Obsidian itself opens links. No servers. No account. No tracking. No analytics. No affiliate links. No remote code. If you read the source, you can see exactly what runs it all ships in the extension bundle. Settings you can tune • Vault name leave empty and it saves to whichever vault is currently open; set a name to always target that specific vault • Target folder (default: clipper-listings — created automatically if missing) • Filename pattern: listing-{shop}-{id}, listing-{id}, or {date}-{shop}-{id} • Include or skip reviews and images • Max number of individual reviews to save • Export / import your settings as JSON Keyboard shortcut Alt+Shift+E by default. Change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Requirements Obsidian desktop app installed (so the obsidian:// URI can open). Works on every Etsy listing URL at etsy.com/listing/*. Not affiliated with Etsy, Inc. or Obsidian.md.
