GetProofAnchor Capture turns any web page into a forensic proof record that meets European digital-evidence standards. It is built for disputes, investigations, regulatory compliance, and any situation where a screenshot alone is not enough. 🔍 What the extension captures When you click Capture, the extension produces a multi-layer forensic record of the page exactly as you see it: • Full-page screenshot — the entire scrollable page, not just the visible viewport • Forensic video — a webm recording of the capture session, preserving any animations, hover states, or progressive lazy-load that a static screenshot would miss • Page HTML source — full DOM as rendered, not just visible text • Visible text content — for fast keyword search • HAR network archive — the full HTTP conversation that produced the page • TLS certificate metadata — issuer, subject, validity, certificate transparency status of the page connection • DNS evidence — multi-resolver consensus from 3 independent public resolvers • Capture metadata — timestamp, URL chain, viewport, browser fingerprint, user agent, capture mode The extension automatically picks the best capture method: server-side capture for public pages (faster, cleaner) or in-browser capture for authenticated content the server cannot reach (pages behind login, member areas, dashboards, chat platforms). 🛡️ EU legal framework — Regulation (EU) 910/2014 (eIDAS) Each capture is sealed with a Qualified Electronic Timestamp issued by a Qualified Trust Service Provider listed on the EU Trusted List. Under Article 41(1) of the eIDAS Regulation, a qualified electronic timestamp cannot be denied legal effect or admissibility as evidence in legal proceedings solely on the grounds that it is in electronic form. Under Article 41(2), it enjoys a legal presumption of the accuracy of the date and time it indicates and of the integrity of the data to which the date and time are bound — meaning the burden of proof shifts to the party challenging the timestamp. A qualified timestamp issued in any EU Member State is recognised as qualified across all Member States (Article 41(3)). 📋 Technical standards GetProofAnchor implements the following recognised standards: • Regulation (EU) 910/2014 (eIDAS) — qualified electronic timestamps • RFC 3161 — Internet X.509 PKI Time-Stamp Protocol • ETSI EN 319 421 — policy and security requirements for TSAs issuing electronic timestamps • ETSI EN 319 422 — time-stamping protocol and time-stamp token profiles • ETSI TS 119 612 — EU Trusted List format (snapshot of the active Trusted List is embedded in every evidence package, enabling offline verification of the QTSP's qualified status at the time of capture) • ISO/IEC 27037:2012 — guidelines for identification, collection, acquisition and preservation of digital evidence (chain of custody) • OpenTimestamps — independent Bitcoin blockchain anchoring as a second, decentralised proof of existence 📦 Evidence ZIP — independently verifiable, offline Every proof can be exported as an Evidence ZIP containing: • All captured artifacts (screenshot, video, HTML, content, HAR, TLS, DNS, RDAP) • A manifest.json listing every file with its SHA-256 hash • The qualified timestamp token (.tsr) issued by the QTSP • The cryptographic verification report • EU Trusted List snapshot at the time of capture • OpenTimestamps proof for Bitcoin blockchain anchoring • A capture metadata document (capture_meta.json) with the full forensic record (consent dialogs handled, scroll plan, network conditions, user agent, etc.) The bundle can be verified independently using the open-source gpa-verify tool, without relying on the GetProofAnchor service. This matters for long-term archival: even if GetProofAnchor ceases to exist, the proof remains verifiable as long as the QTSP's certificate and the Bitcoin blockchain do. 🔐 Privacy and user control • User-initiated only — the extension does NOTHING in the background. Captures happen exclusively when you click the Capture button. • No tracking, no advertising, no analytics scripts • No persistent content scripts — the extension only injects code into pages you actively capture, via activeTab + on-demand chrome.scripting.executeScript • API key stored locally (chrome.storage.local), never synced to your Google account • Sensitive HAR headers (Cookie, Authorization, X-API-Key, Set-Cookie) redacted before any data leaves the browser • Captures are sent only to your GetProofAnchor account (or to the custom backend you configure in extension options) • You can request deletion of your account and personal proofs at any time under GDPR Article 17 (Right to Erasure).
