GerviGrein estimates how much Icelandic news reads as if it was written by AI. This extension shows you the result while you read. What it does • The toolbar robot takes on the article's AI score colour: blue when the text reads as human-written, red when it reads like AI text. It also briefly shows the score itself. • Click it to see the score, what it means, and the outlet's estimated share of AI-written articles over the last 30 days. • If an article hasn't been scored yet, you can request a scan. GerviGrein then fetches the article and scores it. Where it works Popular Icelandic new sites. On every other site it does nothing. Privacy The extension can only see page addresses on these ten news sites. It sends the article's address, without its query string, to gervigrein.is. No method detects AI text with certainty, and the detector is still being validated. The numbers say most about an outlet as a whole, where errors even out.
