Overview
One-click GEO and AI visibility check: AI crawler access, llms.txt, schema, E-E-A-T and on-page signals.
Your next customer may never see a search results page. They ask ChatGPT for a shortlist, ask Claude to compare vendors, or ask Perplexity for a recommendation, and the answer they get depends on whether AI systems can find, read, trust, and cite your website. GEO Lens tells you exactly where you stand, in one click, on any page. GEO Lens is a generative engine optimization (GEO) and AI visibility inspector built by Strativera, a B2B growth agency rated 5.0 across Google, Clutch, and GoodFirms. Open any page, click the icon, and get a weighted GEO Score, a pillar-by-pillar breakdown, your three highest-impact fixes, and a clean report you can copy straight into an email, a slide, or a client deck. WHAT IT CHECKS GEO Lens scans the active page across four pillars and rolls them into one score. PILLAR 1: AI ACCESS (30% of the score) The first question of AI visibility is brutally simple: can AI systems even fetch your content? GEO Lens reads the site's robots.txt and evaluates access for 14 tracked AI agents, each labeled by vendor and purpose: • GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, and ChatGPT-User (OpenAI) • ClaudeBot, Claude-SearchBot, and Claude-User (Anthropic) • PerplexityBot and Perplexity-User (Perplexity) • Google-Extended (Google) and Applebot-Extended (Apple), shown as the robots.txt control tokens they are • CCBot (Common Crawl), meta-externalagent (Meta), Bytespider (ByteDance), and Amazonbot (Amazon) Every agent gets a clear status: allowed, partial, blocked, or unspecified. The parser follows RFC 9309 conventions, merges duplicate user-agent groups the way real crawlers do, and never guesses: rules with complex wildcards are flagged for manual review instead of being silently scored. GEO Lens also checks whether llms.txt and llms-full.txt exist at the site root, whether a sitemap is declared in robots.txt, and whether the page carries a noindex directive. Soft 404s, the error pages that pretend to be files, are detected and treated as missing. PILLAR 2: STRUCTURED DATA (25%) AI systems and search engines lean on structured data to understand what a page is and who is behind it. GEO Lens inventories every JSON-LD block on the page, counts parse errors, and checks for the entity types that matter: Organization or LocalBusiness, WebSite, a page-level entity such as WebPage, Article, Product, Service, or FAQPage, and BreadcrumbList. If the page publishes an Article, it verifies the author and datePublished properties that separate credible content from anonymous content. PILLAR 3: E-E-A-T SIGNALS (25%) Experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and trust are how both Google and AI answer engines decide whose content deserves to be cited. GEO Lens looks for a detectable author byline (and tells you which source it found: schema, meta tag, or on-page markup), published and modified dates, links to About, Contact, and Privacy pages, HTTPS, and external citations inside the main content. Detection is heuristic, and the extension says so honestly: a missed signal is a prompt to check, not proof of absence. PILLAR 4: ON-PAGE FOUNDATIONS (20%) The classic fundamentals still carry the load: title tag presence and length, meta description presence and length, a self-referencing canonical, exactly one H1, a clean heading outline, Open Graph title and image, Twitter card, image alt text coverage, page language attribute, and content depth. Length targets are labeled as what they are, conventional guidance rather than confirmed ranking rules. THE OUTPUT • A GEO Score from 0 to 100 with a plain-language grade: Strong, Solid, Gaps, or At Risk • Sub-scores for each pillar, with every individual check shown as pass, warn, fail, or info • The full AI agent access table • Top fixes: the three failed checks worth the most points, phrased as actions, so you always know what to do first • Copy report: one click produces a clean, plain-text summary formatted to paste directly into an email or document, ready for a prospect, a client, a boss, or a developer ticket HOW TO USE IT 1. Open any page you care about: your homepage, a service page, a blog post, or a competitor. 2. Click the GEO Lens icon. The scan runs instantly and entirely in your browser. 3. Read the score, expand the pillars, apply the top fixes, then rescan to watch the score move. Run it on your own site to find gaps. Run it on competitors to find their weaknesses. Run it before and after a site migration to make sure nothing broke. Run it in a sales conversation to show, not tell. WHO IT IS FOR • Marketing leaders who keep hearing about AI search and want a concrete read on where their site stands • SEO and content teams adding GEO, AEO, and AI SEO to their playbook • Agencies and consultants who need a fast, credible audit artifact for prospects and clients • Founders and owners who want a five-second answer to "can ChatGPT actually see my website?" • Developers verifying robots.txt, llms.txt, schema markup, and metadata after deployments PRIVACY: EVERYTHING RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER GEO Lens collects nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no accounts, no cookies, no browsing history, and no data stored anywhere. All analysis runs locally on your machine. The only network requests the extension ever makes go to the website you choose to scan, to read its public robots.txt and llms.txt files, the same files anyone can open in a browser tab. The permission list is deliberately minimal. The activeTab permission means GEO Lens can only read the page you explicitly scan, at the moment you click. The scripting permission is what injects the read-only collector into that page. There are no host permissions, no background surveillance, and no remote code. When you are not clicking the icon, the extension is doing nothing at all. HONEST SCORING, BY DESIGN The GEO Score is the Strativera GEO Lens rubric v1, an editorial heuristic our team uses to prioritize work, not an industry-standard metric, and the interface says so on every scan. Where the industry has no confirmed rules, GEO Lens labels its guidance as guidance. Where detection is heuristic, it tells you. Where robots.txt rules are too complex to evaluate safely, it flags them for human review instead of pretending. A diagnostic tool you can trust has to be honest about what it knows, and this one is. WHAT IS GEO, AND WHY NOW? Generative engine optimization (sometimes called answer engine optimization, AEO, or AI SEO) is the practice of making your content findable, readable, and citable by AI systems: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and the AI overviews now sitting on top of traditional search. The buying journey is shifting from ten blue links to one synthesized answer, and the sites that get cited in that answer win the demand. The fundamentals overlap with classic SEO, but the checklist is different: crawler permissions for AI agents, llms.txt files, entity-rich structured data, and visible trust signals all matter in ways they did not five years ago. GEO Lens turns that new checklist into a repeatable, one-click inspection. WHAT IS LLMS.TXT? llms.txt is an emerging convention: a markdown file at your site root that gives AI systems a curated map of your most important content, the way robots.txt gives crawlers rules and sitemap.xml gives them URLs. Adoption is early, which is exactly why it is an easy differentiator, and GEO Lens checks for it on every scan. BUILT BY OPERATORS, NOT TOOL VENDORS Strativera is a digital marketing and revenue operations agency for growth-stage, mid-market, and PE-backed companies. The senior operators who run our client engagements are the same people who defined every check in this extension, based on what we fix in the field. We built GEO Lens because our own team needed a fast, honest, first-pass GEO diagnostic, and because we would rather show you the gaps than talk about them in the abstract. A one-click scan is a starting point, not a strategy. The full Strativera GEO and technical audit goes where an extension cannot: crawl-wide analysis across your whole site, server-level checks, X-Robots-Tag headers, content and entity strategy, competitive citation analysis, and a prioritized roadmap tied to revenue rather than scores. Every scan includes a link if you want the deeper look, and the link is the only marketing in the product. THE DETAILS • One click, instant results, with a rescan button for before-and-after checks • Never a blank screen: partial results render even when a page fights back, with scan notes explaining anything that could not be read • Wildcard robots rules flagged for manual review, never silently guessed • Network timeouts capped so a slow site can never hang a scan • Full dark mode support • Keyboard accessible, with reduced-motion support for users who prefer it • No frameworks, no bundlers, no third-party code: hand-written, auditable vanilla JavaScript • Works on any standard http or https page COMMON QUESTIONS Does blocking AI crawlers protect my content? It keeps it out of training sets you block, but it can also keep your brand out of the answers your buyers read. GEO Lens shows both sides so you can make the call deliberately, agent by agent. Why does my score differ between pages? Because GEO is page-level: your homepage and a blog post can carry very different schema, authorship, and metadata. Scan the pages that earn revenue first. Does a perfect 100 guarantee AI citations? No, and any tool promising that is selling something. The score measures readiness: whether anything on your side is standing between your content and the systems that could cite it. GEO Lens respects your time the way it respects your privacy: no signup, no trial, no upsell wall. Install it, click it, and know in seconds whether the AI systems your buyers use can find you, trust you, and cite you. Scan your site before your competitor scans it first. GEO Lens by Strativera. Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is collected or sent.
