GentleWatch
Overview
A transparent, kind screen-support companion. Gentle reminders, calm transitions, and caregiver summaries.
GentleWatch is a kind alternative to harsh parental controls for a shared family computer. It's built first for autistic and neurodivergent users, and it's just as gentle for children. Instead of hard website blocks and red alarm screens, GentleWatch uses loving reminders, calm transitions, and a clear, private summary for caregivers. If the usual screen time tools have felt cold, punishing, or confusing, GentleWatch is the calm alternative. WHY FAMILIES CHOOSE GENTLEWATCH Gentle, not punishing. Warnings arrive early and quietly. When time is up, the screen fades to a warm message with ideas for what to do next, written in your own words. It's an invitation, never a wall. No red, no flashing, no alarm sounds. Transparent, not sneaky. A soft care indicator stays visible on the page, so the person always knows GentleWatch is there. Trust is the whole point. Private by design. There's no account and no server. Your data stays on your computer. The only time GentleWatch reaches the internet is to check a Premium license key, and even then it sends nothing but the key — no browsing history, no names, nothing. Made for neurodivergent users. Calm colors, large readable type, slow motion, and the same predictable layout every day, because consistency is a kindness. WHAT GENTLEWATCH DOES - Tracks time across every tab and window, with idle detection so the clock pauses when no one is there. - Sorts time into YouTube, social media, games, and everything else. - Shows the same calm screen with your words when a site is off-limits, never a browser error page. - Sets daily limits with gentle reminders and soft 10, 5, and 1 minute countdowns. - Lets a caregiver PIN grant a little more time when it's needed. - Keeps a private caregiver dashboard, behind a PIN, with the day's report: total time, time per site, a timeline, top videos with repeat counts, and any gentle nudges shown. - Separates sessions, so time spent by other family members is never mixed into the report. - Supports two profiles, one for adults and one for children, each with their own limits. GENTLE YOUTUBE AND SOCIAL MEDIA AWARENESS GentleWatch notices when a favorite video is watched over and over, and can gently suggest a comfort list instead. Caregivers can flag keywords in video titles and choose a soft response, from a quiet note in the summary to a calm screen. Social time is counted whether the person is logged in or not. Messages and private content are never read. FREE AND PREMIUM The free plan keeps the heart of GentleWatch: time tracking, the care indicator, a daily limit with gentle reminders, both adult and child profiles, the calm off-limits screen, sessions, and today's summary. A one-time Premium unlock adds custom loving messages in your own words, keyword flags, comfort lists, quiet hours, behavior care nudges, and a full 60-day history with export for doctors or therapists. Anything you set up is never deleted, and it returns the moment Premium is active. GentleWatch is made with love, for real families.
