Overview
Highlight any gene, variant, disease, or trial on a webpage to see clinical annotations, cancer evidence, and recruiting trials.
GenoLens is a browser extension for clinical geneticists, genetic counselors, molecular pathologists, and bioinformatics researchers. Highlight a gene symbol, variant (rsID), HPO term, or disease name on any webpage and read multi-source genomic annotations in a compact tooltip — without leaving the page or switching tabs. What you can look up • Genes (BRCA1, TP53, CYP2D6) — HGNC nomenclature, PanelApp diagnostic grades, ClinGen gene–disease validity, UniProt function, PharmGKB drug interactions, Open Targets associations • Variants (rs121913527) — ClinVar pathogenicity with review status, gnomAD population frequencies, Ensembl VEP consequences, AlphaMissense predictions, LitVar2 literature • HPO terms (HP:0001639) — phenotype definitions and synonyms • Diseases (Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) — associated genes with evidence scores and literature Cancer & oncology • Somatic evidence from CIViC and Cancer Hotspots, driver-gene roles, and an AlphaFold structure preview, surfaced in a dedicated Cancer tab when relevant • AI Cancer Report: a concise, source-grounded summary for variants with oncology evidence Clinical trials (ClinicalTrials.gov) • Recruiting trials for the gene or disease you're viewing, with phase and country filters and optional sort-by-nearest • Framed as gene/condition-level exploration — not variant-level eligibility matching Pro — Trial Watch List • Subscribe a gene or disease to your watch list and get one weekly email when new recruiting trials appear • Manage watches and email preferences at genolens.app/dashboard/trials • One-click, no-login unsubscribe in every email Free vs Pro • All lookups, the Cancer tab, and live trial search are free, no account required • Pro adds the Trial Watch List with weekly new-trial alerts Data sources HGNC, PanelApp, ClinGen, ClinVar, gnomAD, Ensembl VEP, AlphaMissense, LitVar2, Open Targets, HPO, Europe PMC, UniProt, PharmGKB, DDG2P, Orphanet, CIViC, Cancer Hotspots, AlphaFold, ClinicalTrials.gov Privacy • We do not read your browsing history or monitor page content • We process only the text you explicitly highlight • For Research Use Only — do not enter patient-identifiable data Permissions • "Read and change all your data on all websites" — required only to detect your text selection and draw the tooltip on the current page. The extension activates when you highlight text; it does not scan or transmit page content.
