Overview
Reads any webpage aloud using Kokoro, an on-device TTS model — no server, no account, nothing leaves your machine.
Genie Reader turns any webpage into natural-sounding spoken audio — using Kokoro, an 82-million-parameter neural text-to-speech model that runs entirely on your device. No cloud API, no account, no subscription. The first time you click Read, your browser downloads the voice model once (cached after that), and every reading after is generated fully offline. How it works - Click the Genie Reader icon on any article or webpage, then - A player appears right on the page with the current word highlighted as it's spoken - Rewind 15s, fast-forward 15s, and a speed control (1x–2x) — just like a podcast player - Choose from 4 natural voices (American/British, male/female) in Settings Private by design Everything happens on your machine. The page text you're reading and the audio that's generated are never sent anywhere. No sign-up, no tracking, no data collection. Works on articles and listing pages Genie Reader detects whether you're on a single article or a page full of headlines (like a news homepage) and reads accordingly, instead of stopping after the first paragraph. Free, with no premium tier and no locked features. Also available as a free macOS app — see geniereader.com
