Genie - Extemp, Congress, Debate

Hopefully once I start getting onto an actually compatible device everything will work better, but right now I am just frustrated. Because genie doesn’t work well with IOS I have tried everything. I have 3 browsers on my Ipad now, no files on the new computer I will need to use and hours down the drain. Sorry to here you are frustrated! iOS is not a supported platform, and Genie was never intended to run on iPads which is why you are running into problems. We never claimed to be compatible with iPads, and our FAQ Page (https://extempgenie.com/faq). Genie is only intended to be used on a full computer with a mouse, keyboard, and the full version of Chrome. Supporting iOS would require extensive changes. We are a small business with limited resources and unfortunately the investment would not be worth it for the small proportion of users that would benefit. Wonderful! Very well made, fast, and functional. Also it is updated so frequently!

I love this app! Used to have a major experience-ruining bug where it would freeze upon auto-filing, but Ethan Reeves responded very quickly and kindly to my issue, and now its working great! I love the Custom Sources and the features for Congress and Debate. I recommend this highly for any forensics afficionado.

I have used Extemp Genie for two years and love the product. I have encountered some problems in the past when the program became unstable before a big tournament, but Ethan is very quick at responding and resolving issues in less than an hour after I emailed him, making my overall experience with the product extremely satisfactory. I would highly recommend Extemp Genie for any Extemper who has a very small team that is unable to file easily.

Extemp Genie is an incredibly powerful resource for extemp and I'd probably go so far as to say it's the best extemp prep tool out there. It has a clean UI and great Search filters. I also love the new addition of practice questions. My one problem with it is that it is EXTREMELY unstable. Sometimes in round, my extemp genie will just crash while searching. Additionally, the first search upon opening the extension takes a good 10~ minutes so I would recommend doing a search before round star... Show more

Great for passionate and lazy extempers alike (myself being in the latter category). It took the burden of finding all the articles I would need off of a small club extemper like myself and allowed me to have enjoyable and low-stress extemp tournaments.

This tool is a life saver!! I would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering competing in Extemporaneous.

Great resource for Extemp speakers! Also great for researching major news sources on almost any topic!

If it weren't for Extemp Genie, I probably wouldn't have even done extemp. Genie makes the whole thing OVER 9000 times easier. It's also got an awesome interface.
