Track your Gemini usage: The Limit Watcher shows how much of the current 5-hour window and weekly limit on Google Gemini has already been used. The extension supports the displayed Gemini plans Free, Plus, Pro, and Ultra. **Features** * Color-coded ring icon with a percentage badge in the toolbar * Automatic alternation between the 5-hour and weekly usage values * Popup with both progress bars, reset times, and the detected plan * Chrome Side Panel with live countdowns to the next resets * Optional movable and resizable overlay inside the Gemini chat * Manual refresh and configurable automatic refresh intervals * Automatic refresh every 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour * Optional refresh after a completed Gemini response * German and English user interface * Generally compatible with Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, and Opera **How it works** The extension uses an already open tab on gemini.google.com to read the usage information provided for the signed-in account. It primarily evaluates the usage data loaded by Gemini directly. If the plan cannot be identified reliably but valid usage limits are available, Free is shown as a fallback. At least one matching Gemini tab must remain open for manual and automatic updates. When multiple Google accounts are used, their data is stored and displayed separately according to the respective Gemini account path. No additional or minimized helper window is opened. Usage data and settings remain stored locally in the browser. The extension does not transmit usage information, chat content, or login credentials to external services. The Google account must be signed in within Chrome. **Permissions** * `storage`: stores settings and the most recently detected usage values locally * `tabs`: opens, identifies, and closes the managed Usage tab * `alarms`: performs scheduled refreshes and toolbar display changes * `scripting`: runs the extension scripts required to detect usage data on Gemini pages * `sidePanel`: provides the Chrome Side Panel and opens it after a user action * Access to `gemini.google.com`: loads and analyzes only the Gemini pages required for usage detection Gemini Limit Watcher is an unofficial community project and is not affiliated with Google.
