)Overview
Compare Salesforce pull requests with your branches and live org, trace component history, check deploy risk and compare branches.
GearGuard adds a side panel to Azure DevOps that helps you review Salesforce metadata changes before a release. What it does - PR check: compares the files in a pull request with the target branch and with your live org, so you can see whether a change has landed. - Component history: shows the pull requests that changed a component, newest first. - Deployment risk check: flags problems in a pull request, such as invalid XML, missing references and overlapping open pull requests. - Named Credential placeholder: adds the placeholder a Named Credential needs, on the pull request's source branch. - Remove from PR: takes components out of a pull request. - Compare branches: shows whether two branches hold the same files, and which ones differ. Privacy GearGuard has no server. It talks only to Azure DevOps and to the Salesforce org you choose. Your Azure DevOps token is kept for the current Chrome session only, and GearGuard never asks for a Salesforce password. It never deploys to Salesforce. Actions that change a branch run only when you click and only if Azure DevOps allows your account. GearGuard is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Salesforce, Microsoft or Gearset.
