Peek.Talk
Overview
Learn a language while you read: some sentences of any page in the language you learn. Point at one to see the original and hear it.
Peek.Talk turns the pages you already read into language practice. Open any article in your own language, press Alt+T, and a share of its sentences comes back in the language you are learning. The rest stays as it was. Point at a swapped sentence to see the original and hear it read aloud. Start with a few sentences, then move the slider when reading gets easy. Or swap single words instead of sentences. It also works as a plain page translator. Set the learning share to zero and turn on the translation of the rest of the page. Translation happens where you choose. The browser's built-in translator and the offline models run on your device and need no internet once they are downloaded. You can also pick an online translator or connect an AI model of your own. Sentences are read aloud by the browser's voices or by voice models on your device, in dozens of languages. The models are downloaded once and stay in the browser. Nothing you read is sent to a Peek.Talk server. There is no account, no subscription and no advertising. The add-on is free. Turn it on from the toolbar button, the context menu or the Alt+T shortcut. Let it translate every page automatically, or skip the sites where the text should stay as it is.
