Watch This Spot

Tells you when part of a page changes.

Some things only change once, and you have to be there when they do. A campsite opens up. A concert releases held tickets. A university course drops a seat. A permit lottery posts results. A court docket moves. A restock lands. People handle this today by leaving a tab open and hitting reload for days. Watch This Spot replaces the reloading. Click the toolbar button, hover the part of the page you care about, click it, and press Enter. From then on the extension re-reads that one region on a schedule and sends you a desktop notification the moment its text changes. Click the notification and it opens the page and highlights exactly the thing that moved. - Pick precisely. Arrow up widens the selection to the surrounding element, arrow down narrows it, so you can land on the price rather than the three spans wrapped around it. - Survives redesigns. Each watch remembers three separate things about the region it is watching, so a renamed class or an extra banner does not lose it. If the region genuinely disappears, the watch says so instead of silently reporting a false change. - Optional condition. "Only tell me if the new text does not contain 'sold out'" turns any-change alerts into the one alert you actually wanted. - Works on pages you are signed in to, because the check can run in a background tab in your own browser. - No account, no server, no tracking.
