Do a task once in Chrome. Ownsteps turns your clicks into a step-by-step guide with a screenshot and a numbered marker for every step. Edit it, black out anything private, and send it as a Word document, PDF, web page or Markdown. Made for the people who write how-to guides, SOPs, onboarding and support instructions, and are tired of taking and pasting screenshots by hand. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the Ownsteps icon and press Start recording. 2. Do the task as usual. Each click and each field you type in becomes a step, titled for you ("Click Refund", "Type Search customers"). 3. Stop, then tidy up: rename steps, add notes, reorder, delete, retake a screenshot or drag a black box over a name or email. 4. Export. FOLLOWS THE TASK ACROSS SITES Sign in on one site and finish on another. Turn on "Record on any site" and every step lands in the same guide, or allow each new site with one click when Ownsteps asks. EXPORTS PEOPLE CAN OPEN Word (.docx), PDF, a single HTML page, or Markdown with images. All four are free. The files open without Ownsteps installed.
