Overview
Share selected text, code, and Markdown as a link. Right-click a selection or press Alt+Shift+S.
Share any text from a web page as a ShareText.io link. Select text, right-click, and choose "Share with ShareText.io". You can also click the toolbar icon or press Alt+Shift+S. The ShareText.io editor opens with your text filled in. Set an expiry, a password, or burn after reading, then click Create share. Nothing is shared until you click it. What you can do: - Share selected text from any page, including text in text boxes. Line breaks are kept. - Share your clipboard: right-click the toolbar icon and choose "Share from clipboard". - Make a QR code for any page or link from the right-click menu. - Shorten any page or link from the right-click menu. Short links need a ShareText.io sign-in. - Change the shortcut at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Works with plain text, Markdown, and code. Sharing text needs no account. Privacy: - Your text travels in the part of the link after the #, which browsers don't send to servers. It stays in your browser until you click Create share. - QR codes and short links receive only the page or link address you picked. - The extension reads a page only when you use it there, and reads your clipboard only after you allow it. - No tracking or analytics. The extension itself makes no network requests.
