Overview

Search Google Cloud console pages with a keyboard shortcut and jump straight to them.

GCP Spotlight is a keyboard-first launcher for the Google Cloud console. Find services, switch between saved projects, and open the pages you need without navigating through menus. Press Ctrl+Shift+K on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+K on Mac, to get started. KEY FEATURES • Quick service search Search for Google Cloud services by name or abbreviation, such as “bq” for BigQuery or “gcs” for Cloud Storage. • Project shortcuts Save your project IDs with memorable aliases. Type “@prod bq” to open BigQuery for your saved production project, or press Tab to browse your projects. • Project colors Assign a console header color to each project so you can more easily distinguish between environments. • Frequently used services Quickly reopen your most-used services with configurable number-key shortcuts. • Custom console links Add shortcuts to specific console pages, such as dashboards. Hide service entries you do not need to keep your search results focused. • Refreshable service catalog Refresh the service list from the Google Cloud console’s All products page. • Keyboard navigation Use the arrow keys to select results and open pages in the current tab or a new tab. Customize the launcher shortcut through Chrome’s extension shortcut settings. GETTING STARTED 1. Open the extension’s settings and add your Google Cloud project IDs. 2. Optionally assign project aliases and header colors. 3. Open the launcher with the keyboard shortcut or extension icon. 4. Search for a service, select a project, and go. DATA AND STORAGE Preferences and saved projects use Chrome’s extension storage and may sync through Chrome Sync when enabled. Service usage counts and the cached service catalog are stored locally. Refreshing the catalog connects to Google Cloud using your existing signed-in session. GCP Spotlight is an independent extension and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
