M3U8/HLS/DASH Player - Custom Keyboard Shortcuts

Advanced M3U8/HLS/DASH player with customizable controls. Supports keyboard shortcuts, PIP mode, frame navigation, and live streams.

This extension is an M3U8 player and HLS player for your browser. It plays .m3u8 (HLS) and .mpd (MPEG-DASH) video streams, including live streams, without downloading anything or installing a separate app. Click a stream link and it opens straight in the player. Once it's playing, you can control almost everything from the keyboard. PRIVACY This extension doesn't collect, sell, or share any data about you. There are no analytics, no tracking, and no ads. Your settings and optional watch history stay in your browser. The only network traffic is to the video servers you're watching from, plus any DRM license server you set up yourself. OPENING STREAMS • Click a link and watch: when you click or visit a .m3u8 or .mpd link, it opens in the player automatically instead of downloading as a file. • Find streams on a page: turn on stream detection (it's off by default) and the toolbar popup lists every M3U8 and MPD stream the current page is playing. Pick one and it opens in the player. • Fix "403 Forbidden" errors: some sites only let their own pages load their streams. When you open a detected stream, the player sends the same headers the page used. You can also save headers such as Referer and Origin for a site, so its streams keep working. PLAYBACK CONTROLS • Playback speed from 0.1x to 10x: use < and > to change speed by 0.1, or - and + to change it by 0.5. • Frame-by-frame navigation: step backward and forward one frame at a time with , and . (comma and period). • Precise seeking: arrow keys skip 10 seconds, J and L skip 5 seconds, number keys 0 to 9 jump to 0% to 90% of the video, and Home and End go to the start and end. • Volume: Arrow Up and Arrow Down change the volume in 10% steps, and M mutes. • Picture-in-Picture and fullscreen: press P to pop the video out and Shift+P to bring it back. Press F for fullscreen. • Quality and audio tracks: choose the video quality yourself, or leave it on automatic. Switch audio tracks when a stream has more than one. • Touch gestures: on a touchscreen, double-tap the left or right side to skip 10 seconds, and press and hold to play at 2x speed. LIVE STREAMS • Pausing a live stream doesn't throw away what's loaded. By default the player keeps up to 3 minutes buffered while paused, and you can raise that to 30 minutes in settings. • When you're ready to catch up, jump straight back to the live edge. WATCH HISTORY AND RESUME • The player remembers where you stopped in each video and picks up from there next time. • Your history holds your 50 most recent videos. Pin the ones you want to keep, and rename entries so they're easier to find. • Don't want a history? Turn it off in settings. SUBTITLES AND CAPTIONS • Turn captions on or off with C, and choose a track from the captions menu. • Change the subtitle size, text color, background color and opacity, font, and edge style (outline or shadow) so they're easy to read on any video. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS YOU CAN CHANGE Every shortcut can be remapped in settings, and you can give an action more than one key. Press ? (Shift+/) at any time to see the full list, and Esc to close it. DRM-PROTECTED DASH STREAMS (CHROME AND EDGE) If an encrypted .mpd stream needs a Widevine license, the player asks for the license URL, optional request headers, and a robustness level. You can save these for each site, and they're only ever sent to the license server you enter. BUILT ON TRUSTED OPEN-SOURCE PLAYERS Streams play through hls.js and dash.js, the same libraries used by many video sites, with controls from media-chrome. The settings page has light and dark themes.
