GCB in Chrome
Overview
Lets the GCB studio look at your block in your own browser: real hovers, scrolls and a picture. Works on a local site.
GCB in Chrome lets the GCB studio look at your block in your own browser. When you ask the studio to change a block and it wants to check its work, it asks this extension. The extension opens the block's preview in a new tab of this browser, does the steps that were asked for (a hover, a click, a scroll, a key), measures what happened, takes a picture, and closes the tab. The studio then sees what the page actually did, not what the code says it should do. It works on a site running on your own computer. Nothing has to be installed on the server, and nothing reaches your machine from outside: the look runs in your session, in a tab you can watch, and it only reads. WHAT IT DOES • Opens a GCB studio page you are already signed in to • Hovers, clicks, scrolls, types and presses keys where the studio asks • Reads sizes, styles, and whether things can actually be seen • Takes a picture of the page • Reports what the page logged to the console WHAT IT NEVER DOES • Navigate anywhere but the studio page it was asked to open • Submit forms or change settings • Run without a GCB studio tab open • Send anything itself: the studio tab talks to your GCB harness; this extension only answers the studio You need the GCB plugin on a WordPress site to use it. Open the site's Build with AI page, and looks run through here.
