GatherOS

Save tweets, threads, and images from X — plus anything on the web — into your local GatherOS library.

GatherOS is a local-first Mac app for saving, browsing, and organizing visual reference — moodboards, screenshots, packaging shots, type specimens, whatever you collect. This extension is the browser companion. Save from any page: right-click an image and choose "Save to GatherOS," and it lands in your library on disk with the source URL preserved as a breadcrumb back to where you found it. You can also capture the visible page, drag out a region, grab the full scrolling page, or save a link — all from the in-page panel. Save your X bookmarks, automatically: bookmark a tweet on X and it shows up in GatherOS on its own, no copy-paste. Image and video tweets come in as media; text-only tweets are saved as clean, readable cards; threads are captured as one multi-part card; and quote tweets bring the quoted post along. Every save keeps a link back to the original, and the tweet's text is fully searchable in your library. It all stays on your machine: saves are real files on disk, and your bookmarks sync to your own local app — never to a cloud server.
