Garim – Hide sensitive data before screen sharing
Overview
Blur or swap emails, phones, names, IDs (30+ countries), API keys and amounts on any page before you share your screen. 100% local.
Share your screen, not your data. Garim hides sensitive information on any web page before you share your screen, record a demo or take a screenshot. It runs entirely inside your browser: no server, no account, no analytics. WHAT IT HIDES • Emails, phone numbers, IP/MAC addresses, money amounts (incl. 원/₩), payment cards, API keys / tokens (sk-…, AKIA…, ghp_…, JWT, Bearer …) and crypto wallets — detected automatically, free • Government, tax, health and bank ID numbers for 30+ countries — 주민등록번호/사업자등록번호 (KR), SSN/EIN (US), TFN/ABN/Medicare (AU), NI/NHS (UK), SIN (CA), Steuer-ID (DE), NIR (FR), DNI/NIE (ES), マイナンバー (JP), 身份证 (CN), Aadhaar/PAN (IN), CPF/CNPJ (BR), NRIC (SG), HKID, CCCD (VN) and more. Every number is verified with its official check digit, so order numbers and look-alikes stay visible. Pick the countries you work with; your browser language picks sensible defaults. • Labelled fields: the value next to Salary, Date of birth, Home address, Bank account, Passport, Emergency contact, Diagnosis and 80+ other HR / finance / health labels is hidden whatever it looks like — in forms, tables and detail panes (any HR, ERP or ticketing system). Labels are recognised in 13 languages. Add your own labels (Pro). • People's names learned from their email addresses (dianne.kennedy@… also hides "Dianne Kennedy") — Pro • Your own keywords: company names, customers, project names — globally or for one site only • Images, videos and avatars with one switch • Anything you click: Alt+B and pick any element — Shift+click hides every element like it (a whole column at once) • Anything you drag: Alt+Shift+R and draw a region over charts, video or canvas • Right-click menu: hide selected text, hide this element, hide all elements like this, draw a region • Tab titles, dropdown options, tooltips and the favicon too — the places other blur tools leave readable • Pro remembers your picks, regions and right-click text per site TWO MODES • Hide — blur or a solid cover bar on page text (pick the look and strength), a ●●●● mask inside read-only fields. Hold the mouse over anything to peek. • Fake (Pro) — swap values for realistic dummy data. The same real value always becomes the same fake value, so your demo still reads naturally SHARE SHIELD (Pro) Start sharing your screen from any video-call or web app and Garim switches on in every tab at once — from the moment the share picker opens, so even its thumbnails are covered. The names of your other tabs turn into dots (the tab you are showing keeps its name), and everything goes back to normal when you stop sharing. Sharing from a desktop meeting app? Press Alt+Shift+M first; the same shortcut shields every tab by hand. BUILT FOR REAL WEB APPS Garim is on for every site as soon as it is installed and covers each page before it paints, so nothing flashes when you open a record mid-call. It never rewrites the page's DOM structure, so modern web apps keep working and rich-text editors stay protected while you type. Works inside shadow DOM, iframes, SVG charts and content that loads later — the way complex enterprise apps draw their screens. Pause one tab with Alt+Shift+B, turn it off per site; your settings follow your Chrome profile. PRIVACY Garim makes no network requests of its own. The only exception is a one-time licence-key check when you activate Pro. Settings stay in Chrome's local storage. Because it works on every page the moment it loads, Garim asks for access to all websites at install — like every blur extension — but it has no server to send anything to. FREE vs PRO Free: Hide mode on every site, auto-detect, element picker, 3 keywords. Pro ($9.99 one-time, no subscription): Fake mode, unlimited keywords, per-site keywords and custom regex, names from emails, remembered picks / regions / right-click text, Share Shield. No watermark on the free plan, no analytics on any plan. One licence per person — it follows your Chrome profile to all your computers. Details: https://guudgood.com/garim/pro/ Garim only changes what is shown in your tab. Turn it off and the original page is back. Nothing is saved to the app you are viewing. Not covered: apps drawn on a canvas (Google Docs/Sheets, Figma — use the Images switch to cover them whole), Chrome's PDF viewer, the address bar and other applications. 가림(Garim) is Korean for "a cover".
