Rule-based cleanup for your AI chat history. Keep what matters, archive or delete the rest.

Clean up your ChatGPT and Claude chat history with rules instead of checkboxes. Most bulk-delete tools make you tick chats one by one. ChatSweep applies a retention policy: "Keep my latest 30 chats, anything active this week, anything with 'invoice' or 'passport' in the title, chats in Projects, and anything I've starred. Sweep the rest." HOW IT WORKS • Set your keep rules: latest N chats, active in the last X days, title keywords or /regex/, Projects, starred or pinned chats. • Preview: every chat shows why it will be kept or swept, before anything changes. Click any row to flip it, or pin a chat to always keep it. • Sweep: ChatSweep goes through the list one chat at a time, slowly enough not to hammer the site. Pause, resume or retry at any time; progress survives a browser restart. SAFE BY DEFAULT • On ChatGPT the default action is Archive, which you can undo in ChatGPT's settings. • Delete (the only option on Claude, which has no archive) asks you to type the number of chats to confirm. • Optional backup before sweeping: a zip with a readable Markdown copy and the raw JSON of every chat about to be swept. If any chat can't be backed up, nothing is swept. • Protection rules always win over a manual click. SCHEDULED CHECKS, NEVER SCHEDULED DELETES Have ChatSweep re-check every 1, 7, 14 or 30 days. A check only counts what your rules would sweep and shows the number on the toolbar icon. It never sweeps on its own; you confirm every sweep. PRIVATE • No server, no account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. • Works through the ChatGPT or Claude tab you're already logged into, using your existing session. Your password and tokens are never stored or sent anywhere. • Your rules and chat list stay in your browser. Uninstalling removes everything. • Open source (MIT).
