Game of Life New Tab

)Overview
Conway's Game of Life as your new tab page
Transform every new tab into a living simulation of Conway's Game of Life — the legendary cellular automaton invented in 1970 by mathematician John Horton Conway. Each time you open a new tab, a unique random universe springs to life across the entire screen. Watch colonies emerge, evolve, and fade as the simulation runs silently behind your browsing. ────────────────────────── FEATURES ────────────────────────── • Full-screen Game of Life animation on every new tab • Google search bar — always front and center, ready to type • Dark and light themes — follows your system settings, switchable anytime with one click • Pause / Play — freeze the simulation whenever you like • Reset — generate a fresh random universe instantly • Generation counter — track how many steps the simulation has taken • Wrapping edges — the grid is toroidal, so patterns never die at the border • Lightweight — pure JavaScript, no frameworks, no external requests, no tracking ────────────────────────── ABOUT CONWAY'S GAME OF LIFE ────────────────────────── The Game of Life is a zero-player game: you set the initial state and observe. Cells on a grid live, die, or are born according to four simple rules based on their neighbors: 1. A live cell with fewer than 2 live neighbors dies (underpopulation). 2. A live cell with 2 or 3 live neighbors survives. 3. A live cell with more than 3 live neighbors dies (overpopulation). 4. A dead cell with exactly 3 live neighbors becomes alive (reproduction). Despite its simplicity, the Game of Life produces extraordinary complexity — gliders that travel across the grid, oscillators that pulse forever, spaceships, and structures so powerful they can simulate a Turing machine. Open a new tab. Watch life unfold.
