Galta: AI Infinite Canvas & Moodboard
Overview
An AI infinite canvas for web references. Keep sources, point at what matters, and shape the next change with an optional agent.
Galta is an AI infinite canvas and moodboard in Chrome's or Dia's side panel, beside the web page you are browsing. Keep references with their sources, draw, point at what you mean, and ask an agent, ChatGPT through Codex or Codex and Claude Code, to work on the canvas. Galta's source is public under AGPL-3.0. Keep what catches your eye Drag an image from any page straight onto your canvas, or hover over it and click Galta's mark to keep it in Collection with its source. Add text, shapes, drawings, images, video and interactive web pages. Make things where you can see them Connect your Mac to chat in Galta, or work in Codex or Claude Code and see the result on the canvas. The agent can inspect the whole canvas; a selection points at what you mean. Revisit earlier canvas versions in Time Machine. Point and talk Choose Record to capture what you point at on the canvas, with microphone audio. Stop to keep a local draft and review it before sending. Only Send uploads audio to Cloudflare for transcription; canvas images and pointer observations do not go to the speech service. Your agent receives visual context, pointing times and the transcript. Hosted speech needs a verified Aha Labs account and uses a shared free allowance. Failed requests keep the recording available to restore. Start without an account Install the extension in Chrome 141 or later and Galta opens a canvas right away. To work beside a page, open a website and click Galta in the extensions menu; pin Galta to keep it within reach. Drawing, collection and local canvas history work without an agent or an account. Optional AI setup Agent connections require the Galta Mac app, Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later. Download and setup: https://galta.art/download/ Sign in with ChatGPT inside Galta to use built-in chat. Its sign-in and conversations are separate from your desktop coding app. External agents use their own accounts. Image, video and audio generation use providers you connect in Settings, which bill you directly. The Aha Labs account authorizes hosted speech and is separate from agent and generation accounts. Your work and permissions Canvas data stays in this browser profile and local Mac workspaces. Requests and canvas context are sent to the agent or generation provider you choose when you ask it to work. Giving an agent page access can share that page's text and screenshots. Galta needs website access to offer its collection control across the sites you browse and to work with a page you explicitly connect; it does not collect general browsing history or transfer website cookies to agents. Interactive web content on a canvas may load resources from its own services. Export important work before removing the extension or clearing its data. Local history is not a cloud backup.
