The Epstein files remain unreleased, for reasons this agency can only speculate about with the appropriate degree of restraint. It may be a matter of case numbers blocking one another. It may be the responsible department, which has been mid-relocation between two buildings since 2019 and has yet to locate the boxes. It may simply be that the contact list contains too many names one would rather not run into again at dinner, on the golf course, or in a group photo. This extension cannot do anything about the non-release itself, but it does at least fill the resulting gap transparently: it reliably redacts Trump and Epstein on every website you visit, so that somewhere on the internet, at least, it remains clear who is currently unavailable for comment. An excuse is included with every redaction, officially worded and unimpeachable, as befits a document that was never meant to see daylight in the first place. Should further names from the files nonetheless become public in the coming months or years — this agency plans for every contingency as a matter of policy, none of them with any actual certainty — the list of redacted names can be expanded independently at any time. The department accepts no liability for delays in updating your personal watchlist, but is pleased to provide the form regardless. Future-proofing has rarely been this straightforward to arrange.
