Overview

Auto-switch Google account when access is denied

What it does GAAS automatically switches your Google account when access is denied to a file or folder. Instead of manually signing out and back in, the extension tries your other logged-in accounts in the background — silently, instantly, without interrupting your workflow. How it works 1. You open a Google Drive link, Doc, Sheet, or Slide 2. Google shows "Access Denied" or "You need access" 3. GAAS detects this and automatically retries the URL with each of your other Google accounts 4. The moment an account has access, the file opens — you see a brief "✅ Access granted" notification 5. If no account has access, GAAS pauses for 3 minutes to avoid repeated redirects, then shows "No account has access" The entire process takes milliseconds. No clicks required. Key features Automatic detection Automatically switches Google accounts when access is denied. Works on Google Docs, Drive, and Sheets — no manual account switching needed. Free for up to 2 accounts. Premium: unlimited accounts + manual selection. Smart account ordering GAAS tracks which accounts successfully open files and prioritizes them in future switching attempts. Accounts that work more often get tried first, making the process faster over time. Tab scope control Choose whether GAAS should act on the active tab only, or on all Google tabs simultaneously. "Active tab only" is the default — it switches only the tab you're currently viewing. Cooldown protection If all accounts fail to access a resource, GAAS enters a 3-minute cooldown for that URL. This prevents infinite redirect loops and protects your session state. Statistics panel The popup shows how many times each account successfully gained access. Useful for understanding which accounts are used most and identifying permission patterns across your team or workflow. Manual mode (Premium) In addition to automatic switching, Premium users can manually select which account range to cycle through — useful for setups with many accounts where you want precise control. Login page detection If switching to an account redirects to a Google login page (meaning that account has no active session), GAAS skips it automatically and tries the next candidate — no login prompts, no interruption. Works without re-authentication GAAS never asks you to log in or grant extra permissions. It uses only the accounts already signed into your browser. No OAuth, no credential storage, no external communication. Supported services - Google Drive (drive.google.com) - Google Docs (docs.google.com) - Google Sheets (docs.google.com/spreadsheets) - Google Slides (docs.google.com/presentation) Free vs Premium Free tier — unlimited automatic switching for up to 2 Google accounts. No time limit, no trial period. Free forever. Premium — one-time payment, no subscription. Unlocks: - Automatic switching across more than 2 accounts - Manual account range selection - Lifetime access to all future updates Privacy GAAS does not read file contents. It only checks whether your accounts can access a given URL. No data is collected, no analytics are run, no network requests are made to third-party servers. The extension works entirely within your browser using your existing Google sessions. Permissions used: - storage — saves settings and account statistics locally - tabs — reads the current tab URL and navigates to the switched URL - webNavigation — detects when a tab lands on a Google login page during switching Who it's for - Teams sharing Google Drive folders across multiple organizational accounts - Freelancers managing client accounts and personal accounts simultaneously - Anyone who regularly receives Drive links that require a specific account to open - Students and educators switching between personal and institutional Google accounts - Developers working across multiple Google Workspace environments
