Overview

Pauses you at checkout and shows what the money could become. Purchases stay in your browser; only anonymous totals are shared.

That "Buy now" click takes half a second. Future Me gives it ten. Future Me is a browser add-on that steps in at the exact moment you're about to spend: the "Buy now", checkout or "Place order" button. It shows what that money could grow into if you kept it, then lets you decide. No guilt trips, no budgets to maintain, no account to create. Just one honest pause, right where impulse buying happens. HOW IT WORKS • Click buy in a supported shop and Future Me reads the price or order total. • It shows what that amount could be worth in 5, 10, 20 or 30 years, at a yearly return you set yourself (7% by default). • Then you pick one of three ways out: – Skip it. The amount goes into your jar, and you can move it to your own savings or broker account with a QR code. – Wait. Park the purchase for 24 hours up to 7 days, and Future Me reminds you when time's up. Most "must-haves" don't survive the wait. – Buy anyway. Fine, it's your money. You just name the reason first. Over time the popup shows which reason you buy on most, which is often the real eye-opener. BUILT NOT TO ANNOY YOU • After "Buy anyway", Future Me stays quiet in that tab for 15 minutes, so a multi-step checkout isn't interrupted twice. • "Add to cart" pauses are off by default. Switch them on if you want to be stricter with yourself. • Available in English and Dutch, following your browser's language. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no sign-up. Your purchases, your jar and your bank details stay in your browser. QR codes are generated on your device, and any transfer happens in your own banking app. Future Me never connects to your bank or moves money. The only thing that leaves your browser is a handful of anonymous totals (a random install code, a shop domain, an amount) for the public counter on futureme.today. One toggle in Settings switches that off, and the add-on works exactly the same. Privacy policy: https://futureme.today/privacy Future Me is made by Waai Design in Belgium. The future values shown are illustrations based on the return you choose. They are not investment advice, and past returns don't guarantee future ones.
