Play videos in a separate fullscreen window while keeping your original browser window available.

Full-Screen Assistant temporarily moves the original video tab into a separate fullscreen window, keeping the website’s player, captions and quality menu. A blurred placeholder occupies its original tab position, while other browser tabs remain usable. The surrounding webpage moves with the video tab and cannot simultaneously be used in the original browser. Press Esc, use the website’s exit-fullscreen button or click the placeholder to return the tab, with a transition from blurred to clear. The system window-close button or Cmd-W closes the real video tab. After installation, refresh video pages and use the player’s fullscreen button. You can also click the extension icon to select a video. Requires desktop Chrome 120 or later. Supports compatible HTML5 and iframe players; individual websites or content may have restrictions. It does not bypass DRM. If a preview is unavailable, the placeholder uses a gradient. Current-page titles, the original page address for recovery, a single video still, necessary window/session information and trusted gestures are handled on your device. Session information is temporary; the original address also remains in the state of the placeholder tab’s existing native history entry for Back recovery until Chrome removes the entry or you clear browsing history. Placeholder icons come from Chrome’s internal favicon service, without a third-party favicon service. The extension does not upload this data, record continuous video or use advertising or analytics trackers. See the privacy policy for details.
