Type French Accents Easily — No Keyboard Switching Required French Accents is a Chrome extension that lets you type French accented letters and symbols without changing your keyboard layout or learning shortcuts. Features: Floating overlay keyboard When you focus on any text field on a webpage, a small overlay appears. Click a character to insert it into the active field. Works everywhere Works on any website with standard text inputs, text areas, and content editable areas. Draggable interface Drag the overlay by its header to move it anywhere on the screen. Complete French character set: Accents: à, â, ä, é, è, ê, ë, î, ï, ô, ö, ù, û, ü, ÿ, ç (and capitals) Ligatures: æ, œ (and capitals) Punctuation & symbols: « », –, —, € Customizable settings Toggle typing mode on or off from the extension popup or options page. How to Use: 1) Install the extension and ensure it is enabled. 2) Open any normal website in a regular browser tab (e.g., https://www.google.com or https://example.com ) 3) Click inside any text field (search box, input, or text area). 4) A floating overlay with French accent buttons will appear (usually in the bottom-right corner). 5) Click any accent button (e.g., é, è, ç) to insert it into the focused text field. 6) Optional: Drag the overlay by its header to reposition it or click × to close it. Note: The overlay appears only on normal webpages when a text field is focused. It does not appear on the extension popup or options page by design.
