Save yourself from 50 open tabs. FreeTabs puts every tab from every Chrome window on one board. Lasso the ones that belong together, drop them on a folder, and they're saved, checked and closed in one move. You end with one clean window, and every tab is still there when you want it back. We built it after a day with 50 tabs across 10 windows and a Mac that could barely keep up. Closing tabs felt like losing things, and the tools we tried poured everything into one long list we never opened again. FreeTabs lets you sort while you save, so your folders actually mean something. 👁️ See everything at once • Every window side by side, with full titles that wrap instead of being cut off. • This window comes first, then the windows you haven't touched in a while. • Search every open and saved tab from one box: press Enter, type a word, jump to it. 📂 Sort in one move • Click, Cmd-click, Shift-click, or drag a lasso across windows. • Drop the selection on a folder, or press 1 to 9. Watch later and Read later are ready from the start. • Hold a window's name to pick up the whole window. • Make Chrome tab groups and save them. They come back with their name and color. 💾 Nothing gets lost • Every tab is written and read back before it closes. • Pages with unsaved work (the ones that ask "Leave site?") stay open and are flagged. • Every move can be undone, and Trash keeps tabs for 30 days. • Your folders are copied to your Chrome bookmarks, so they survive even an uninstall. 🤖 Saved tabs that get used • Copy a folder as links, Markdown or a ready-made AI prompt, or send it to Claude or ChatGPT in one click. • Connect Claude Desktop and ask it to organize your folders, like "copy my top three prospects into a new folder". Each change shows up with an Undo button. • Tabs from incognito windows are never shown to AI. 🧠 Made for busy minds • The toolbar icon counts your open tabs and pulses red past your limit. • A good list and a bad list make tabs from chosen sites glow green or red. • Works in incognito windows once you allow it. • Light and dark mode follow your system. 🤝 Your tabs stay yours FreeTabs is free forever and open source (MIT license). You don't need an account, and your tabs stay in your browser. Read every line at github.com/leofritsch/freetabs Coming from OneTab? Paste its "Export URLs" text in Settings › Import.
