FreePaint — Screenshot Capture & Annotate
1 rating
)Overview
Capture any tab, annotate with arrows, text, boxes and blur, then copy or save. Collect shots from several tabs on one canvas.
Take a screenshot of any tab and start marking it up straight away. No account, no upload, no watermark. Capture the part you actually want - Drag to select any region of the page. - Hold Shift and the page lights up piece by piece. Click a card, a table or a chart and it comes away along its own edges, trimmed to what is actually drawn rather than the blank box the layout reserved around it. Keep Shift down to gather several in one pass. - Press Enter for the whole visible area. - Right-click any image on a page to annotate it at its original resolution, not the size the page happened to display it at. Collect from several tabs onto one canvas Most screenshot tools give you one shot in one editor. FreePaint keeps a canvas open and every new capture lands on it, so you can walk through five tabs, grab a shot from each, and lay them out side by side before you annotate a single one. The toolbar icon counts what you have gathered while you were away from the canvas. This is the part that saves real time on bug reports that span several pages, competitor comparisons, and step-by-step guides. Annotate Arrows, boxes, ovals, freehand pen, text, numbered steps, highlighter and a spotlight that dims everything except the bit that matters. Cover up anything private with mosaic, blur or a solid bar. Crop, scale, align to guides, then copy to the clipboard or export a PNG. Your screenshots never leave your computer There is no server to send them to. Images are decoded, edited and exported entirely inside your browser. The extension asks for no access to any website — it can only ever see the one tab you just told it to capture, and only at that moment. No sign-in. No capture limit. No paid tier. Keyboard shortcuts - Alt+Shift+S — capture a region - Alt+Shift+V — capture the visible area - Alt+Shift+E — open the canvas Change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Also on the web The same editor runs at freepaint.app if you would rather paste a screenshot into a tab than install anything.
