FreeMiD
Overview
Free, open-source Discord Rich Presence for YouTube, YouTube Music, and TIDAL.
FreeMiD displays your YouTube and YouTube Music activity as Discord Rich Presence — showing the video title, artist, album art, and a live progress bar to your Discord friends. Features: • YouTube: shows video title, channel, and elapsed time • YouTube Music: shows track title, artist, album art, and timestamps • YouTube Music activity includes a small YT Music logo overlay • "Listen on YT Music" button links friends directly to the track • No account required, no telemetry, no ads • Fully open source (MIT) — https://github.com/ClickSentinel/FreeMiD How it works: FreeMiD uses a small native helper (installed separately) to communicate with Discord over its local IPC socket. The extension detects what's playing in your browser tab and sends the activity data to the native host, which forwards it to Discord. Setup: After installing the extension, download and run the native host installer for your platform from the GitHub releases page. Once installed, your Discord status will update automatically whenever you open YouTube or YouTube Music. Privacy: FreeMiD does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. All communication is local between your browser, the native host, and your Discord desktop app.
