Overview

Free video downloader. Find the video on the page you're watching and save it in one click. Private, with no account.

Save the video you're watching in one click. videofetch is a free video downloader for Chrome. It finds the videos on the page you have open and saves them to your computer. Open it from the toolbar and the video that's playing is already at the top of the list, with its title, length, quality and file size, ready to download. Key Features - Finds the videos and audio on the current page, including players embedded from other sites - Puts the video you're watching first, so you don't have to dig through a list - Lets you pick the quality when a video comes in more than one resolution - Saves videos that keep picture and sound in separate files as one MP4 with audio - Downloads HLS streams (.m3u8) and joins the pieces into a single MP4 - Shows progress, speed and size while it downloads, and you can cancel at any time - Rename a video before you save it, or copy its direct link - Save all the video files on a page at once - Right-click a video and choose "Download with videofetch" - The toolbar icon shows how many videos it found on the page - Dock it in the Chrome side panel, where it follows you from tab to tab - Download history with search and "Show in folder" (you can turn it off) - Choose a folder for each download, or save straight to Downloads - Open it with Ctrl+Shift+U (Cmd+Shift+U on Mac) - Light and dark themes - Free, with no account or sign-up Private by design Everything happens on your computer. videofetch doesn't upload the videos you save or the pages you visit, and it has no server of its own to send them to. When a video arrives in separate pieces, they're joined inside your browser by a built-in copy of ffmpeg. Nothing is re-encoded, so the quality stays exactly as the site served it. Your download history and settings stay on your device, you can clear the history whenever you like, and downloads from incognito windows are never added to it. How to download a video 1. Open the page with the video and let it play for a second or two. 2. Click the videofetch icon in the toolbar, or press Ctrl+Shift+U. 3. Pick a quality if there's a choice, then click Download. videofetch picks videos up while the page loads them, so a video that hasn't started playing yet may not appear until it does. In the side panel, it shows up on its own as soon as it starts. What videofetch can't download - YouTube. videofetch doesn't work on YouTube, including YouTube Shorts and YouTube videos embedded on other websites. Chrome Web Store policy doesn't allow extensions to download from YouTube, so YouTube videos never appear in the list. - Videos protected with DRM, the copy protection that streaming services use for movies and TV shows. Those only play inside the site's own player. - Live streams and encrypted streams. For these, videofetch saves the playlist file rather than the video itself. Please only download videos you have the right to save, and respect the terms of the sites you visit and the people who made the videos. Found a site that doesn't work, or have an idea for a feature?
