Overview

Arrange notes, PDFs, images, audio, video, and links in a persistent spatial workspace.

FrameChute turns one Chrome tab into a visual workspace you can arrange and return to later. Place notes, PDFs, image folders, local audio and video, images, URLs, and supported web content on a freeform canvas. Move and resize blocks, layer them, save the workspace, and restore the arrangement later. Main features: • Movable and resizable workspace blocks • Editable text notes and local text files • Local PDFs selected explicitly through Chrome's file picker • Image-folder galleries with previous/next navigation • Local images, audio, and video • Browser-playable direct media URLs • Shared media controls for eligible audio/video blocks • URL/link blocks that preserve the complete address supplied by the user • User-selected webpage and web-image blocks where the destination allows embedding • Drag and drop for supported local files, images, image directories, text, and URLs • Workspace background and appearance controls • Bring-to-front and send-to-back controls • Named saved workspaces that preserve supported layout and viewing/playback state LOCAL-FIRST FrameChute stores workspace state locally and does not require an account or a developer-operated cloud service. Local files and folders are accessed only after you explicitly choose or drop them. The submitted extension requests no Chrome extension API permissions and no host permissions. When you deliberately add remote content, Chrome connects directly to the destination you selected. Some websites block embedding; FrameChute does not claim that every website can be displayed inside the workspace. SELF-CONTAINED CHROME EXTENSION FrameChute does not require a desktop companion, native messaging host, Windows executable, Python installation, localhost service, or separate FrameChute account. All executable extension JavaScript ships inside the extension package. FrameChute does not download remote executable extension code.
