Framecap - Screen Recorder with Webcam & Audio
Overview
Record your screen, a tab or your webcam in Full HD with mic and system audio. Free, unlimited, no watermark, no sign-up.
Framecap is a free screen recorder for Chrome. Record a browser tab, a window or your whole screen, add your webcam in a small round bubble, and save the video as an MP4 on your computer. There is no account to create, no watermark and no time limit. I built it for quick walkthroughs, bug reports, lessons and feedback videos, the kind of thing you want to record in a minute and send right away. What you can do with it - Record your screen, a single tab or one window. You pick what to share in Chrome's own window after you press Start. - Record your screen and webcam together. Your camera shows up as a round bubble you can drag to any corner and resize. - Record only your webcam if you want a simple talking video. - Record audio from your microphone, the sound from a tab or your whole computer, both, or no sound at all. - Noise reduction for your mic cuts fan hum and background noise between words. You can set it to Strong, Standard or Off. - Choose the video quality: 1080p Full HD, 1080p at 60 fps, 720p, 480p or 240p. - Save as MP4, which plays on almost every phone, computer and website, or as WebM. - Pause and resume, use a 3 or 5 second countdown, and control everything with keyboard shortcuts. - Trim the start and end of a video. It saves in a few seconds, even for long recordings, with no loss in quality. - After recording, add a clean look in one click: a macOS window, a browser frame or rounded corners on a soft background. Your original video is always kept. - All your videos are in one place where you can watch, rename, download or delete them. How to record your screen 1. Click the Framecap icon or press Alt+Shift+V. 2. Pick Screen + camera, Screen or Camera. 3. Press Start recording and choose the tab, window or screen you want to share. 4. Press Stop or Alt+Shift+S when you are done, then download your video. Pause is Alt+Shift+K. You can change the shortcuts at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Made to stay out of your way The Framecap window hides itself while you record, so it never shows up in your video. Your recording is saved to your computer every second as you go, so you still have it if Chrome or your computer crashes. Framecap does not run on the websites you visit, so it does not slow down your browsing. Private by design Framecap has no servers and sends nothing anywhere. Your videos stay in your browser on your own computer until you download them. There are no ads, no tracking and no sign-up. Works on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook with Google Chrome 116 or newer. Questions or ideas? Use the support tab on this page and I will get back to you.
