Overview
Import & export Gemini Notebook (NotebookLM) sources. Save ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini chats, YouTube & web pages in 1 click.
Gemini Notebook Toolkit — capture research, organize sources, export reusable text. Bring supported web pages and AI conversations into your research workflow. Keep a searchable library, organize it by project, and send sources to Gemini Notebook, formerly NotebookLM. Works with notebook.google.com and notebooklm.google.com. FREE, UNLIMITED LOCAL EXPORTS • Export supported notebook source text, chat answers and Studio notes as Markdown, plain text, JSON or LaTeX. • Reuse Markdown in your preferred notes app or text editor. • Local exports run in your browser and are free on every plan. Supported text content only; not every original file or media artifact. CAPTURE AND ORGANIZE • Save supported articles, videos, social posts and AI chats. Capture selected text with the right-click menu. • Optional all-site capture adds a save button on more websites; restricted or unsupported pages may not work. • Keep sources in a searchable cloud library with workspaces, tags and collections. Reuse saved prompts and find things with the command palette. • Pro includes bulk import from open tabs, URL lists and CSV files. SMART SAVE AI can suggest a title, summary, tags and a Toolkit workspace. Review and edit suggestions before using them. Saving to your Toolkit library and sending to a Google notebook are separate steps. PUT YOUR RESEARCH TO WORK • Studying: collect reading material and useful explanations in a workspace for each subject. Keep selected passages together, then reuse exported notes when preparing revision materials. • Academic research: gather accessible papers, reference pages and your own research conversations around one question. Review the captured text and original source before treating an AI explanation as evidence. • Writing and content planning: keep background articles, interview material you have permission to use, and useful quotes together. Export text to continue drafting in your own editor. • Product and business research: organize public market information, customer-research notes and reference material by project. Tags help separate themes without losing the wider context. • Personal learning: turn a collection of useful tabs into a library you can return to. Save a helpful explanation today and find it again when you need it. A WORKFLOW YOU CAN FOLLOW 1. Open a supported page and capture the content you want to keep. Use selected-text capture when only one passage matters. 2. Check the extracted text, title and destination. A clean, relevant source is more useful than a large collection of unrelated pages. 3. Save it in a workspace and add tags that describe the topic or next step. Keep a reusable prompt for questions you ask repeatedly. 4. Open your target notebook and send the source when you are ready. Confirm that it appears there before relying on it for an answer. 5. Export supported text when you want to study offline, archive a snapshot or continue in another editor. CHOOSE THE RIGHT OUTPUT Use Markdown for readable notes with structure, plain text for simple copying, JSON for structured text processing, and LaTeX for a document-writing workflow. An exported text snapshot is not a live sync with the original page. Review important quotations and citations against the original material. GETTING STARTED Install the extension and sign in to use the cloud library. Keep the relevant notebook open when sending sources to it. If a page is behind a sign-in screen, lacks readable text or is restricted, check the capture preview rather than assuming it was imported. The extension does not bypass access controls or grant permission to reuse someone else's content. LANGUAGE AND PRIVACY Choose from 16 interface languages; some text may still appear in English. Local exports stay in the browser. Cloud capture stores content in your account; AI features send relevant content to an AI provider. All-site capture is optional and off by default. See our privacy policy for details. PLANS Free: unlimited local exports, 20 highlights/day, 50 cloud captures/month, 5 workspaces, 50 AI actions/month and 25 MB cloud storage. Pro: US$5/month or US$48/year (equivalent to US$4/month), bulk import, no plan-based count caps on captures, workspaces, prompts or highlights, 1,000 AI actions/month and 250 MB cloud storage. Storage, service and Google limits still apply. Independent product, not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google. NotebookLM and Gemini are trademarks of Google LLC.
