DXF Viewer & DWG Viewer — Open CAD, STL, OBJ Files Offline
Overview
Open DXF, DWG, STL and OBJ files right in Chrome. Layers, measure, find text. Files never leave your computer. No ads, no account.
Lineform opens CAD drawings and 3D models right in Chrome, so you can view, measure and search them without installing CAD software. It works offline, with no upload, no ads and no account. 😤 The problem Most CAD viewers for Chrome won't open your file. You have to "import" it into a page, the drawing shows up blurry with half of it missing, DWG files only work through Google Drive, and some ask you to switch off your ad blocker or leave a 5-star review first. ✅ What Lineform does • Opens from where your file is: drop it on the page, click "Open file", open a local file in Chrome, or right-click a link and choose "Open in Lineform". Not just "import" • Shows the whole drawing, sharp at any zoom, with line weights, line types and text. It tells you plainly if something could not be drawn • Layers: search, hide, show all, or solo one layer (hover to preview) • Layouts: switch between model space and the drawing's layouts • Measure: click two points for a distance in the file's units. Works in 2D and 3D, and snaps to endpoints and midpoints in 2D drawings • Find text: search every label and note in a drawing • 3D models: orbit, zoom, wireframe, iso, top, front and side views. Colours and textures show when the file has them • Open the 3D on a web page: click Lineform on a page that shows a 3D model or a drawing, and open it in the viewer. It finds the model file the page loaded, SVG drawings, and the live 3D scene itself, with its parts and colours. For viewing: respect the site's terms and the author's rights • Save the current view as a PNG • Light, dark (CAD black) or automatic background • Recent files reopen in one click, even if the original moved. Turn that off any time • Nothing to install on your computer, no account 📐 Formats • Drawings: DXF, and DWG from AutoCAD R13 to 2018 • Models: STL and OBJ for 3D printing, glTF from the web, and other common 3D files • From web pages: model files, SVG drawings and live 3D scenes ⚠️ Honest limits • DWG files open up to 8 MiB. For a bigger DWG, save it as DXF in your CAD program; large DXF files open in fast mode • Very old DWG files (R11 and 2.10) don't open: save them as a newer DWG or as DXF • STEP, IGES, IFC and Revit files are not supported • View and measure only. Lineform does not edit drawings • The free version opens one file of your own (that same file reopens any time, and the samples always open). To ask for the unlimited version, email iliasselbarhoumi@gmail.com • Live 3D from a page: WebGL2 pages, base colours and textures only (no lighting effects or animation). Older WebGL1 and new WebGPU pages can't be captured, and Lineform says so 📂 Open local files straight from Chrome (optional) Turn on "Allow access to file URLs" for Lineform in chrome://extensions and CAD files you open from your disk come straight to Lineform. Lineform explains the switch inside the viewer. Without it, drag and drop and "Open file" work the same. 🔗 Files on websites (optional) Right-click a link to a CAD file and choose "Open in Lineform". Chrome asks you to allow that one site, and Lineform then downloads only that file. The permission is never asked at install, and you can remove a site any time in chrome://extensions. 💛 No account, no ads Made by one independent developer, with optional tips on Ko-fi. This free version opens one file of your own, and the samples always open. For the unlimited version, email iliasselbarhoumi@gmail.com: you get a personal code you type into Lineform. Still no account and no sign-in. 🔒 Privacy No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no accounts. No Google Drive access and no upload: your files are read inside your browser and never sent anywhere. The only network requests are downloading a file from a link you choose to open in Lineform, after you allow that site, and reading the model you pick on the page you are on. Recent files are kept in your browser (IndexedDB) so they reopen later, and are deleted when you remove them or uninstall.
