FormTrail — Submission Records
Overview
Save a private local record of the online forms you submit, with follow-up reminders and export tools.
# Chrome Web Store Listing ## Name **FormTrail — Submission Records** ## Short description Save private local records of online forms, set follow-up reminders, and export your submission history. ## Category Productivity ## Language English ## Detailed description Never wonder what you entered into an online form. FormTrail lets you create a private record of form fields you choose, directly in your Chrome profile. It is useful for job applications, apartment enquiries, warranty claims, registrations, customer-support forms, university applications, insurance requests, and other forms you may need to revisit later. HOW IT WORKS 1. Complete a form on a normal website. 2. Click the FormTrail toolbar icon. 3. Scan the current page and review the detected fields. 4. Uncheck anything you do not want stored. 5. Save a record immediately, or arm standard HTML form-submit detection. 6. Search, update, export, import, or delete records from the FormTrail dashboard. PRIVACY-FIRST BY DESIGN • FormTrail only reads the current page after you click its toolbar icon and request a scan. • It does not request access to every website. • No account, analytics, advertisements, remote server, or third-party data sharing. • Records stay in chrome.storage.local inside the current Chrome profile. • Passwords, PINs, one-time codes, payment security codes, hidden fields, and authentication fields are never captured. • IBAN, passport, national ID, bank-account, and similar sensitive fields start unchecked by default. • File contents are never read. RECORD MANAGEMENT • Search titles, websites, notes, field labels, and saved values. • Track draft, submitted, follow-up, and completed statuses. • Schedule optional local Chrome notifications. • Export a complete JSON backup. • Export a spreadsheet-friendly CSV file. • Import a previous JSON backup. • Choose automatic record retention. • Delete one record or all local records at any time. IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS Standard submit detection listens for normal HTML form-submit events. Some custom web applications do not emit those events; use “Save record now” on those sites. FormTrail creates a personal convenience record. It is not a legal delivery receipt and does not prove that a website’s server accepted a submission. Chrome internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, and cross-origin iframe forms cannot be scanned. ## Suggested screenshot order and captions 1. **Review before saving** — Scan the active form and select the fields that belong in the record. 2. **Protected by default** — Sensitive identifiers are unchecked; authentication and security-code fields are never read. 3. **Create a private receipt** — Store status, follow-up date, notes, page address, and selected answers. 4. **Search your submission trail** — Review saved applications, claims, registrations, and enquiries in one dashboard. 5. **Remember the next step** — Set local reminders and export portable JSON or CSV backups. ## Suggested support text Questions, bug reports, and feature requests are welcome through the support contact shown on this listing.
