Install this extension to open FormGPT in a side panel while you work in Google Docs, Google Slides, or Google Forms. Tell FormGPT what you need, paste your notes, upload a file, or pull text from the document you already have open. FormGPT drafts structured questions with choices and answer keys (for quizzes). You review everything in FormGPT Studio, then export a new form to your Google Drive—or add new questions to a Google Form you already own. You keep using Google Forms to share links and collect responses. FormGPT builds the form; Google handles responses and grading. WHAT YOU CAN USE AS SOURCE MATERIAL ------------------------------------ • Prompt — Describe the form in plain English: topic, grade level, number of questions, difficulty (easy, medium, hard), and style (MCQ, true/false, survey, etc.). • Pasted text — Lecture notes, a reading passage, bullet points, study guides, or any text you copy in. • PDF — Upload a PDF (up to 5 MB). FormGPT extracts the text and builds questions from it. • Word (DOCX) — Upload a .docx file. Older .doc files are not supported—save as .docx or PDF first. • TXT and Markdown — Upload .txt or .md files, or paste markdown-style notes. • Google Docs — Import text from the Google Doc you have open in the browser (from the side panel). • Google Slides — Import text from the presentation you have open. • Existing Google Form — Append new AI-generated questions to a form you are already editing. Ideal for creating class tests and exams on Google forms faster with AI. • True/False Quiz — Quick true/false or yes/no questions. • Mixed Quiz — Multiple choice, true/false, and other patterns in one assessment. • Short Answer Test — Open-ended answers for definitions, explanations, and short written responses. Surveys and intake: • Survey — Create Polls and general surveys on faster Google Form with AI. • Questionnaire — Likert scales, multiple choice, and longer answers for research or structured intake. • Feedback Form — Course, event, product, or service feedback. • Registration Form — Sign-ups, RSVPs, and event registration. You pick the template first. You can still adjust difficulty and how many questions to generate before you export. CREATE FORMS DIRECTLY FROM GOOGLE DOCS WITH AI ---------------------------------------------- When you are editing a Google Doc: 1. Open the FormGPT side panel from the extension. 2. Sign in with Google on formgpt.co (first time only). 3. Connect Google Forms when prompted (one-time permission so FormGPT can create forms in your Drive). 4. Choose a form type: MCQ Quiz, True/False, Mixed Quiz, Short Answer, Survey, Questionnaire, Feedback, or Registration. 5. Add your content: write a prompt, paste text, upload PDF/DOCX/TXT/MD, or import from the open Doc. 6. Generate. FormGPT creates a draft with a title, questions, options, and answer keys where applicable. 7. Review and edit in FormGPT Studio—change wording, options, correct answers, and points. 8. Export. Confirm when prompted. FormGPT creates a live Google Form in your Google account. Share the responder link from Google Forms. Example prompts: “12 MCQs on the water cycle, grade 7, medium difficulty with answer key” or “Turn these notes into a 10-question unit review.” CREATE FORMS DIRECTLY FROM GOOGLE SLIDES WITH AI ------------------------------------------------ When you are editing a Google Slides presentation: 1. Open the FormGPT side panel. 2. Sign in and connect Google Forms if you have not already. 3. Pick a form type (quiz, survey, feedback, registration, etc.). 4. Use a prompt, pasted text, a file upload, or import content from the slide deck you have open. 5. Generate and review in FormGPT Studio. 6. Export to a new Google Form in your Drive. Useful after a lesson deck: turn slide content into a quick quiz or a short feedback form without retyping every question in Google Forms. CREATE FORMS DIRECTLY FROM GOOGLE FORMS WITH AI ----------------------------------------------- When you are editing a Google Form: Append mode — Add questions to the form you have open: 1. Open the form in edit view. 2. Open the FormGPT side panel. 3. Describe what to add (for example: “Add 8 medium-difficulty MCQs about photosynthesis”). 4. FormGPT generates new questions and appends them to your form. 5. If the form needs quiz grading for new multiple-choice items, FormGPT can enable quiz mode when needed. You can also create a brand-new form from Google Docs or Google Slides using the same panel, then open the finished form in Google Forms after export. HOW TO USE THE EXTENSION ------------------------ First-time setup: 1. Install the extension. 2. Open Google Docs, Google Slides, or Google Forms. 3. Click the FormGPT icon or in-page control to open the side panel. 4. Sign in with your Google account. 5. Connect Google Forms (separate from sign-in—allows create and update in your Drive). 6. Optional: complete onboarding on formgpt.co and choose Free or Pro. Create a new form: 1. Open Docs or Slides (or use formgpt.co in a browser tab). 2. Open the side panel. 3. Select form type. 4. Add prompt, paste, file, or import from the open document. 5. Set difficulty and question count if you want. 6. Generate → review in Studio → export to Google Forms. Add questions to an existing form: 1. Open the Google Form in edit mode. 2. Open the side panel and use append / add-to-form. 3. Describe the new questions. 4. FormGPT appends them after you confirm. Tips for better results: • Be specific: topic, audience, number of questions, and question style. • You can upload a PDF chapter and ask for “20 MCQs with answer key, hard difficulty.” • Disconnect Google Forms anytime from your account settings or Google Account permissions. Account data, drafts, and Google Forms integration work the same as on the website. Uploaded files are processed to generate your draft; we do not use them as long-term file storage.
