FormFolio uses Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano for on-device AI assistance on supported computers. Your corrections improve your local matching. When you opt in to share screened form questions and matching diagnostics, you can also help us build reviewed improvements for the whole FormFolio community. Everyone uses their own answers; actual answers and resumes are not shared. Community improvements arrive through reviewed releases, not model-weight training. Filling and local learning also work without AI. FormFolio is free to use, with no FormFolio account or paid AI plan required. Optional tips support development; payment is not required to use the extension. Spend less time repeating job application answers. Start with your resume Upload a PDF, DOCX, or TXT resume to extract grounded details locally. Review your profile in Settings. Your file attaches only to uploads identified as required; storing it does not mean every site receives it. 2. Choose your setup explicitly Read the disclosure before selecting Start FormFolio. Recommended setup enables required-field filling, local answer memory including eligible work-eligibility, pay, and demographic answers, sensitive filling, supported required acknowledgment and application terms/privacy acceptance, on-device AI when available, and automatic problem reports with screened question text, available choices, and answer-free matching diagnostics. Approve once; there are no per-report prompts. Actual answers and resumes are excluded. Prefer no automatic reports? Select the visible Start without sharing alternative for the same local features without ongoing reporting. Individual controls are in Advanced. Updates do not silently opt you in; ordinary Stop/Start preserves sensitive, acknowledgment, AI, and reporting choices. 3. Complete and correct answers normally With memory on, text blur/change and supported selections commit local saves. There is no per-application Learn or "I'm done" step. The sticky bottom-center panel starts with two short lines. Details shows explanations, optional AI status, Undo, Report issue, and Pause; Less returns to the compact view. Saving, Saved locally, and Not saved remain visible; retry is in Details. Its non-modal top layer stays fixed while scrolling without blocking forms or dismissing application menus. Undo changes saved memory, not your form. Reuse depends on question meaning and application/employer context, not support for every form or control. Clearing a required answer rejects the prior answer until replaced, not forever. Explicit Keep blank rules remain in Advanced. 4. Recover a missed application step Choose Use FormFolio here near the popup's top to confirm the current top-level application using stored privacy choices. With memory on, corrections save automatically. It does not enable sharing or follow unrelated pages. Supported later steps and delayed controls are rechecked. Required fields only. Final decisions stay yours. Optional fields, optional uploads, and fields not identified as required stay untouched, including during manual Fill and AI-assisted matching. Passwords, government identifiers, employee IDs, birth dates, signatures, factual certifications, background/criminal/credit checks, and marketing stay manual. Existing answers are preserved unless you explicitly enable overwrite for eligible required fields. Review the whole application. FormFolio never clicks arbitrary application buttons or Submit, or bypasses CAPTCHA. Required acknowledgments and application terms: your explicit choice Disclosed recommended or private setup can enable acceptance of supported required single-choice informational acknowledgments and application terms/privacy agreements on your behalf. This may have legal effect; review linked terms yourself. Acceptance starts off for existing users until they approve the disclosure that includes it or enable its Advanced control. Earlier setup approval and ordinary Stop/Start do not enable it. The choice is independent of sensitive filling and diagnostic sharing. Optional, multiple, ambiguous, signature, factual-certification, background-check, and marketing controls remain manual. AI does not decide acceptance, and agreement values are not learned as applicant facts. With local memory on, unchecking an automatic acceptance saves a scoped manual-only rule. Undo restores memory, not the live form. Disabling the setting stops future acceptance; it does not withdraw selections already on the form. Bounded German current-residence questions use exact English/German country matching. This is not broad multilingual support: birth country, citizenship, work country, past/future residence, and ambiguous meanings remain separate. Local answers, optional improvement reports Profiles, documents, answers, and private learning stay in your Chrome profile until filling places information on an employer application page. Updated setup consent permits automatic screened question/options and matching diagnostics, not actual answers, selected-option markers, resumes, full URLs, or page HTML. Local learning does not depend on sharing. Earlier category-only permission is not broadened without approval. Question text may still identify people despite screening. You can turn sharing off anytime. A gentle invitation after a suspected problem appears at most once every thirty days, with Not now and Don't ask again. Optional one-off review is available without automatic consent. Shared fixes still require maintainer validation and release; collected reports do not retrain a model automatically. How free on-device AI works Chrome downloads and manages Gemini Nano on your computer, separately from the extension. Deterministic matching handles known questions before the model. After a correction is saved locally, the extension's background worker can ask the available model to check question meaning and matching diagnostics. Validated repairs are saved for later forms; the extension does not retrain model weights or invent applicant facts. Numeric facts retain their precision: six years can match an appropriate range, but a range never becomes an invented exact number. Personal repairs and fact relationships remain when you clear diagnostic history. Device/model requirements apply. If preparation is needed, select Prepare on-device AI in Advanced. Setup does not force a model download or guarantee availability. No separate AI app, paid AI plan, or FormFolio account is required. Local inference does not send prompts to a remote AI service.
