Formatter is a JSON formatter and Markdown (.md) viewer for Chrome. Open a JSON API response, or a .md file like a README, and you get something you can actually read instead of a wall of raw text. There's nothing to configure. JSON formatter and viewer • Collapsible tree. Big documents stay fast because sections render only when you open them. • Search keys and values with Cmd/Ctrl+F, including inside collapsed sections. Step through matches with Enter. • Click any value to see its path (like $.data[0].customer.email) and copy it with one click. • Copy any node, the whole document formatted, or a minified version. • Large numbers stay exact. IDs like 12345678901234567890 aren't rounded the way plain JavaScript would round them. • Links in values are clickable, and anti-hijacking prefixes like )]}' are handled. Markdown (.md) viewer • GitHub-style rendering: tables, task lists, syntax-highlighted code with copy buttons, and heading links. • Table of contents on wide screens, and YAML front matter shown separately. • Scripts in the file never run. The output is sanitized before display. Everywhere • A small toolbar stays out of the way until you hover it. • Light, dark, or follow your system. • Raw view always one click away. Switch formats or restore the original page from the toolbar button. • Works on local files too: enable "Allow access to file URLs" in the extension's details. Private by design: Formatter has no servers, no analytics, and makes no network requests. Your files never leave your browser.
