Everyone has lost a long piece of writing to a browser this way, and everyone has had the same reaction: why doesn't this just save? Form Time Machine makes it just save. HOW IT WORKS Install it and forget it. As you type in any form — a comment box, a pull request description, a cover letter, a support ticket, a long reply — Form Time Machine keeps a copy on your own computer. When something goes wrong, come back to the page. A small prompt appears in the corner offering to restore what you wrote. Click it, and your text is back exactly where it was. If you'd rather go looking yourself, click the toolbar icon to search everything you've ever typed, across every site. Form Time Machine never stores: - Password fields - Credit and debit card numbers (checked by field name and by validating the digits themselves) - CVV, CVC and security codes - One-time passcodes and 2FA fields - Bank account, routing, IBAN and sort code fields - Social security, national ID and tax ID numbers - API keys, tokens, recovery phrases and seed phrases You can also exclude any site entirely — your bank, your company intranet, anything you like. PRIVACY Your text is stored in your browser on this computer and nowhere else. There is no account. There is no sign-in. There are no servers. There is no analytics, no telemetry and no tracking. The extension contains no code that makes a network request of any kind, which means there is nothing it could send your data to even in principle. You can export everything to a file or delete everything permanently, at any time, from the settings page.
