Overview

Private notes and community discussions on any webpage

Footnote adds a panel to every webpage — private notes on the left, public discussion on the right. PRIVATE NOTES Write notes on any URL. Notes are AES-256-GCM encrypted before leaving your device — not even Footnote can read them. Your encryption key syncs across your own Chrome installs via chrome.storage.sync. PUBLIC DISCUSSION Join or start threaded conversations on any webpage. See what others are saying about the article, product, or page you're on. Replies, soft-delete, and real-time updates included. WORKS EVERYWHERE News articles, research papers, product pages, documentation — if it has a URL, Footnote works on it. PRIVACY FIRST End-to-end encrypted notes. No tracking. No ads (yet). Sign in with Google, that's it.
