Food Hygiene Badge

Adds official FSA hygiene ratings to restaurant listings on UK takeaway sites, including Deliveroo.

Deliveroo lets you filter for 5-rated restaurants, but it won't show you the rating on each one. Food Hygiene Badge fills that gap: the official Food Standards Agency hygiene rating, on every restaurant card, while you browse — so you see it before you order rather than after. WHAT IT DOES • Puts a hygiene rating badge on every restaurant card on Deliveroo listing pages • Colour-coded at a glance: green for 4–5, amber for 3, red for 2 and below • Hover any badge for the matching FSA record, the inspection date, and a link to the full entry on ratings.food.gov.uk • Flags likely virtual brands — where no FSA business is registered under the name you are ordering from, which usually means the food is cooked in a kitchen registered under a different name • Handles Scotland's FHIS pass/fail scheme alongside the 0–5 scheme used in England, Wales and Northern Ireland HONEST ABOUT UNCERTAINTY Takeaway listing pages don't publish each restaurant's address, so the extension matches on trading name and location. When it can't confidently tell which FSA record belongs to a restaurant it shows "?" rather than guessing at a number, and every badge links to the record it matched so you can check for yourself. FREE AND PRIVATE Free, with no ads, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. There is no server of ours — the only network request goes to the Food Standards Agency's free public API, and results are cached on your own machine for a week.
