3 ratings
)Overview
Find the font on any website. Point at text to see its family, size, weight and the font actually rendered, then copy CSS.
Font Inspector shows you which font a website uses. Click the toolbar icon, choose Pick text on page and click any text. A small panel opens next to it with everything you need to reuse that typography. WHAT YOU SEE • Font family and the full fallback stack • The font actually rendered, so you know when a fallback is showing • Where it comes from: Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, a self-hosted web font or a system font • Weight, style, size in px, em and rem, line height and letter spacing • Variable font axes, OpenType features, text transform and decoration when a page uses them • Text and background color in HEX, RGB, HSL or OKLCH, with a WCAG contrast check • The element's CSS selector path GET THE FONT • Open the font on Google Fonts or Adobe Fonts • For self-hosted fonts, see the font files the page loads and copy a ready @font-face rule • Similar free Google Fonts for paid and system fonts FONTS ON THIS PAGE See every font a page uses at once, ranked by how much of the text it covers, with its weights and sizes. Hover a font to outline where it appears, inspect it, or save them all to your library. COPY IT • Click any value to copy it • Copy a whole style as CSS, Tailwind classes or SCSS variables KEEP A LIBRARY Every font you inspect is saved to your personal library. Filter by sans, serif, mono or display, pin favorites, sort fonts into collections and compare up to four side by side. Export them as CSS variables, design tokens or JSON, and import a library back. HOW TO USE IT 1. Click the toolbar icon and choose Pick text on page, or press Alt+Shift+F (Option+Shift+F on Mac). 2. Hover over any text and click it, or press Shift. Use ↑ and ↓ to select the parent or child element. Esc cancels. 3. Read the details, copy what you need, or save the font for later. You can also right-click any text and choose Inspect Font. It works inside embedded frames too. LIGHT OR DARK Choose light, dark or your system setting in the library settings. Please note: Font Inspector reads fonts from live web pages. It does not identify fonts in images or screenshots. Suggested alternatives look similar but are not exact matches. PRIVACY Your library stays in your browser, and alternatives are suggested without any online lookup. The extension sends anonymous usage statistics, but never page addresses, page text or your browsing history.
