Folklore
Overview
Recognize genomic variants on web pages and open them in Folklore.
Folklore connects the genomic variants you read on the web to their evidence. Recognized variant expressions appear as subtle, underlined links. Click a link to open Folklore in a new tab while keeping your original page open. Supports genomic coordinates, genomic HGVS, coding HGVS, protein HGVS, SPDI and rsIDs. Recognition is conservative; not every possible notation is supported. Coordinates use GRCh38; the extension does not convert genome builds. Use the Recognize variants switch to enable or disable recognition. Page scanning happens locally in your browser. The extension stores only this preference and does not upload page contents or browsing history. When you click a variant link, the selected expression is passed to the Folklore website for lookup. Browser-protected pages, PDF viewers, embedded frames, shadow DOM and expressions split across separate text nodes are outside this release. Folklore supports professional evidence review. Automated classification is not a patient diagnosis.
