Overview
A calm new tab for focus: one next task, a timer, and a site blocker that only runs while you focus.
fokuss is a focus workspace on Chrome's new tab. Each new tab shows the one task you're working on next, a focus timer, and a blocker for the sites on your list that runs during a focus session and at no other time. Type your next task straight onto the new tab and press start focus. While the 25-minute timer runs, a site on your blocked-sites list opens a "not now" page with your next move instead. Pause the timer, take a break or finish the session, and every site opens normally again. What's in it - One next task on every new tab. Type it in place, or pick a task from one of your projects with "set as next". - A 25-minute focus timer and a 5-minute break, with a Chrome notification when the timer runs out. - A blocked-sites list that starts with a few social sites. Change it any time under ··· → manage → blocked sites. - A 5-minute pass on the "not now" page, for when you really need that one site. The timer keeps running. - Quiet focus: one switch turns the focus screen and the "not now" page a plain dark neutral. - Projects with their own tasks, and gates: dated deadlines shown as days left. - Alt+Shift+P starts or pauses the timer, and so does the fokuss button in the toolbar. You can change the shortcut at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Before the blocker turns on, a short card on the new tab explains how it works and what fokuss keeps. The blocker stays off until you accept it. Everything stays on this device Your tasks, projects and gates, the timer and its settings, your blocked-sites list and any site passes are kept in Chrome's storage on this device. fokuss has no account, makes no network requests and sends nothing anywhere. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored. Why Chrome asks for these permissions - "Replace the page you see when opening a new tab": fokuss is your new tab. - "Read your browsing history": during focus, fokuss compares the address of each page you open with your blocked-sites list, on this device. Outside focus it ignores the pages you open. It keeps no history. - "Display notifications": fokuss tells you when a focus session or a break ends. Privacy policy: https://www.fokuss.ai/privacy
